rom high school, I was very eager to join college as I was assured that I would advance my education and even show may talent to as many people as possible. I also hoped that I would enjoy the privileges that I enjoyed in high school, such as being the monitor of class since I was confident of the skills that I possessed. I was also used to surviving with the strict rules that were imposed on us in high school, and already devised mechanisms on how to deal with the tough times in schools. As far as education is concerned, nothing or no one would derail my efforts to succeed in my studies through putting more effort even in times when the times seemed too tough on my part.

My virtues and values were apparent, with discipline, respect, honesty and diligence being my main blueprints of life. This explains why I passed with good grades and was admitted to a good college to study Psychology studies. My dreams remained valid until I joined college in 2006 when my life began to take a new turn with the days. When I reported to college I was escorted by my brother who helped me finish my registration on time and even acquire a hostel room for my semester’s accommodation.

I was so hopeful that life would shine bright for me. My first culture shock was in the first week of college when I saw males and females sharing a room. This shocked me as my background indoctrinated the fact that prior to marriage no woman and man should share a room. In fact, I was extremely shocked to an extent that I called my mom to share with her what I had witnessed. Little did I make out that that was the norm in college life and that a majority of the students were sharing a room with their girlfriends or boyfriends.
