The dependent variable is consequences associated with drug usage and the independent variable is frequency of drug use. To test my hypothesis I would use survey research design as it is often of low cost and information can be easily accessed. Challenges that can be encountered include getting institutions to participate particularly because this research is sensitive.

Ethical considerations that I would have to keep in mind are honesty, as I am to disclose fully to sponsors of the survey the limitations and to avoid the use of techniques that deliberately introduce bias into the results. My response is drug abuse is prevalent in all societies and is manifested in one form or another so it appears that drug abusing and it effects are both here to stay. Responses Social experiment: bystander effect The presence of other people creates the diffusion of responsibility.

Due to other observers, individuals don’t feel as much pressure to take action as it is thought to be shared among all those present. When other observers fail to respond, individuals often take this as a sign that a response is not of essence. Kids who participate in sport while they are young These children attend school more as they are driven by the zeal of sporting activities. In addition, they are more community and civic minded. They excel in the workplace in their adult years. They learn by working as a team, gain leadership skills, discipline and proper communication skills.
