Community Report: Inequalities in Society Research Action and Information Network for the Bodily Integrity ofWomen (RAINBO) is a USA based nongovernmental organization. The organization is geared at fighting poverty and providing equality in society. The main target of the organization is to ensure women are empowered and they are used as a tool to eradicate poverty in the country and other countries that the organization covers. The inequality presented to women and children as a result of their race also is addressed by the organization. The report will focus on the activities of this organization focusing on their mandates and goals towards empowering women in society. The organization believes that poverty is the beginning of all the worlds’ injustices. The global effect of these injustices is caused by the imbalanced nature of the social composition. The main concern of the organization is the global poverty. Working with other organization being local or international has managed it addresses the global poverty issue with focused being on the developing nations (Zakaia, 2003). Among activities that the organization undertakes is the way they encourage other local NGO to work with the organization in finding solution to the poverty issue. The high cost of living means adjustment to the wage rates and the organization advocated for better pay to the citizens and lobby groups to enhance their quest in aiding the society this is regardless of race. The organization fights to ensure the minimal wage is standards across gender and race of any worker reflects the current economical situation. It ensures that mechanisms are in place to ensure that they work with the international aid programs and channel resources available to ensure those working are able to afford basic commodities and use their earnings to enhance their stay (RAINBO organization, 2014). The level of illiteracy in most women is related to unfriendly environment that the females are subjected to and the situation is worse in women of colored skin commonly reffered to as the African Americans (Tatum, 1997). A way to eradicate the high level of global poverty is to invest in education. The young generation would bring about future changes in the social class and position in society. The society offers diversity and inequalities due to race are the reasons for existing societal gaps (Ehrenreich, & Ehrenreich, 2011). The society needs children whose future is guaranteed and their requirements and needs while studying are dealt with. Most of the children originate from very poor backgrounds and hence their parents or guardians may be unable to support them fully in matters education. The organization together with other global organizations provides scholarship programs. The programs are aimed at children from poor backgrounds. Many programs are available in some parts of Africa and Asia. The education of children through scholarships is only possible if the learning environment are adjusted and made conducive for learning to take place. RAINBO manages to pull resources which usually are used to improve the conditions of the local learning institutions. It works with the bright but unprivileged in society to guarantee their educational future. The fight against poverty is due to happen through changes in society and modernism could only be achieved through education. The educated children are then mandated to use their skills to empower and encourage others. The organization works with locals and enlightens them of their right to education (RAINBO organization, 2014). Society places the females to be the most unproductive gender a situation that has led to their intimidation, the situation is similar across all genders. Both society and the local governments of many countries ignore their presents and the potential they posses in matters development. Despite these potentials most lack the needed financial and moral support to achieve their goals. The organization looks for opportunities available in society and assist them in making decisions that will help them t reduce their independency. The amount the female population would contribute after being empowered will include taxes to the government and job creations. The programs that are aimed at ensuring they empower women include availing funds to them and training them on how to invest and contribute to nation revenue (Zakaia, 2003). The young females are taken through education while the mature once given business options and prepare them to a more independent nature in society. For married females it would reduce the dependency of the female to the males. They would create a shared cost attitude that will reduce the burden that the husbands and given members are tasked with. The reduced burden would indicate increased savings and affordability of social amenities. The bridged gap between the males and female reduces the iniquities that exist in society and the core responsibility of the organization is to ensure measures are in place to ensure the targets are achieved (RAINBO organization, 2014). The other contributor of poverty is the political instability of a given region or state. The effect of the unstable nature of society would be visible in the living standards of the entire population and the most vulnerable which in this case are the women and children. The organization fights for democracy in the leadership structure and fight for security in countries. A stable nation invites investors who create employment supply to the local demand. The organization also provides humanitarian assistance to regions hit by disasters. The disasters may range from natural calamities which includes floods and famine also manmade disasters such as political turmoil and war. The organization assist the victims of these calamities to recover from the losses incurred with n effort of preventing them from languishing in poverty and achieve their ultimate goal that surrounds empowering the less privileged in society (RAINBO organization, 2014). Business and agriculture is what remains the world leading sources of income. The organization uses the popularity of the activities as the solution to the ever looming poverty in some developing nations. The locals then given incentives and training to either engage in business r agriculture. The outcome of agriculture is a guaranteed food security to the family and in excess they are sold for income. The income generated is then aimed at improving the living standards of the locals. The organization works with individuals and community groups and uses them to carry out their mandate. These programs work with a targeted period and they use the local authority as the guidance tool (RAINBO organization 2014). The political temperature of a given nation in most cases work as a hindrance in achieving these goals. Upon which RAINBO employs the tools and their humanitarian assistance platform to aid and help the society in securing their economic activity during the instability period and afterwards aid them recover from the losses. In conclusion the organization operates within the existing local mechanism to ensure they achieve their main goal of eradicating global poverty. The main targets during the programs offered by RAINBO are the minority and the oppressed in society which in most cases are the women. They are believed to be the major contributors to world poverty. They also are the mostly affected population in society. They create a societal gap that needs to be bridged (Sklar, 2007). The organization helps the selected individuals in society to bridge these gaps and empower them with an aim of creating a better future. The organization uses their influential nature to assist the less privilege and do so by creating opportunities for them. The young are provided with education with n effort of creating a better and brighter future for them. The women being the most vulnerable are offered opportunities that would improve their lives. The goals are divided into short term which involves the mature population and those affected by current disasters. The long-term goals include investing in education and empowering their parents hence creating an environment that combines education and business and other empowerments programs to provide a solution.
