Negative Reactions The article exaggerates the dilemma surrounding the African American dualism. It is true that there were substantial amounts of racial discrimination against the black. However, these cases have not lived in the present society. African Americans have the freedom and their rights are guaranteed. They have equal opportunities to get jobs in public, private and elective posts. In fact, the current president, Barrack Obama is an African American. Culture self-Awareness An African American is torn between two cultures.

He is partly a black and a white. As such, he finds it difficult to establish cultural identity and awareness. This is a serious cultural dilemma arising from the dualism.
