Investing in children While discussing the economy, it is important to devise methods that assist the country achieve permanent solution to the problems it faces. Some of the issues raised are because of the normal life that the citizens of the country live. For example when a woman opts to drink when pregnant and passes a fatal disease to the baby, is a problem caused by negligent behavior. The baby would need support from the government, thereby increasing the governments responsibility. The resources that the government uses to support such areas would have assist in another area.

This slows down the economic growth rate. Using programs that could affect the generation in later years is not a good move. Even if the program would save some present expenses, the long term goal is far much more important than the short term solution. The short term solutions are just a way of avoiding the real issue at hand. Majority of these programs are for those who cannot afford the real deals. The government avoids to improve the wages of these parents and opts to start up anti-poverty programs.

Good programs solve issues that affect citizens directly. In addition they should all gear towards achieving a permanent solution. Some programs have side effects that appear in later stages in life. An example of this program is the one that rectified and hearing disability but later prevented the child from speaking.
