Role of social workers is very important in child welfare system. Social workers hold the responsibility of finding such children who are facing some kind of child abuse and reporting such cases to the concerned authorities, such as, law enforcement agencies. Social workers also raise their voice against child labor. The workers find their clients through personal struggle and sometimes through media. Media reports such cases to make government aware of social injustice and social workers take those cases to raise struggle for the victims.
Social workers work at individual as well as at community level. They try to bring positive changes to the society. in case of child welfare system, social workers find the needs of their clients through interviews and close observations and design appropriate interventions to meet their needs. They undergo hard struggle at times to provide their clients with their deserved rights. Theories for social work guide their practices and help them focus on clients. Practice theories explain social environment and human behaviors to the workers and assist them in bringing positive changes in the society. In child welfare system, social workers have a deep understanding of different behaviors of children. They know which behaviors are not common in children. They work to figure out the causes and provide psychological treatment to the children. They remain in touch with the children to know whether their interventions worked well or not.
