Boomers believed in modernism they grew up believing technology is good, medicine as the answer to their problems and a united people meant a better future (Gelston, 2008). This ideology cannot relate to the present especially with the generation Y.
The existence of the boomers, generation X and generation Y in a working condition happen to create tension among this group. Baby boomers considered being self- absorbed workaholics by generation X generation Y, generation X see generation Y as arrogant and entitled, whereas generation Y see generation X as a bunch of whiners. With this environment, no business can yield desired results. It is clear that the effect of boomers on the economy, certain occupations and industries is substantial, with most boomers going on their retirement the society puzzles what will happen to the overall economy (Gelston, 2008).Generation Y have the ability to combine the attitude of veterans, teamwork ethic of Boomers and the technology savvy.
