For several reasons Childs are being abused in our society. "Any recent act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker, which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse, or exploitation, or an act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of serious harm" (Child Welfare Information Gateway, 2007). In every country of the world child abusing is happening every day. In some countries the rate of child abusing is less and in some countries it is extreme. This system of abusing is not a modern problem; it took place in our society from the ancient age. The children are deprived from their right years after years. Several times in several countries have taken several steps to prevent child abasement but they failed. It is true they have some achievement on that purpose and they succeed to minimize it for few times but with the time being child abusing again took place. This role of child abusing in every country can be named as child abuse culture. All over the world the human rights organizations and the social groups are working to prevent child abuse and preserve the rights of the children. 2. REVIEW 2.1. TYPES OF ABUSE Different countries and states define the definitions of child abuse and neglect. These clarifications of definitions determine the field for State intervention in the protection of a child's well-being. In different ways government tries to recognize the different types of abuse in their definitions of child abuse. The definition of child abuse includes physical abuse, negligence towards child, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse. PHYSICAL ABUSE Physical abuse of child means "any no accidental physical injury to the child" and can include striking, kicking, burning, or biting the child, or any action that results in a physical impairment of the child. The 36 states of America have law regarding physical abuse of children. NEGLIGENCE The definition of neglect includes the deprivation of food, education, shelter, clothing, medical care and supervision. Negligence is very much harmful for the proper growth of a child. SEXUAL ABUSE Sexual abuse of child means various acts as sexual abuse. Sexual exploitation involves engaging a child in prostitution, use in sexual activities or use in pornography production. EMOTIONAL ABUSE Emotional Abuse includes injury to the psychological capacity, create pressure to emotional change or behavioral change, change in emotional response and put a child in anxiety or depression. PARENTAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE In some countries neglect Parental Substance Abuse. It includes the harm to child for he illegal drug taking of parents or the disagreement of parents. It also includes the effect of the unethical activities of parents. ABANDONMENT Some child does not know the identity of their parents they are called abandon child. They are abuse and neglect in various ways. 2.2. THEORIES The way of the child abuse or the factors behind it are same in every region, which can be called the theories of the child abuse. The writers define many ways, why the abuse takes place or why the abuse happens. The theories of child abuse are discussed below in a short form. CHILD IN UNDER AGED Child are under aged and are not honoured and as a mature man. They cannot get all the facilities provided by the states. They are deprived from enjoying everything in the society. This also happen for their immaturity and lack of knowledge and skill. It is a duty of the others, to make them learn the social system and other things. Thus the elder are trying to make them learn the custom of the society. But several cases it is found that the elders are tried to push them to work in favour of them. Besides these in every society there is a system that the elder can order the younger, this system is the basic or starting factor of child abuse. POVERTY Poverty is a very important factor for the child abuse. In Maine many child are harassment or abused only reason behind it is their poverty. Due to the poverty the children are sometime work outside. Because they are bound to income to fulfil their basic need. As child labour is not supported in Maine as several other countries or states. So the people engage them for work wants something more form the children to do. This caused the abuse of the children. SOCIAL SYSTEM The social system in mine is such that the child abuse is now a normal fact. People know about it but actually they are not careful about that. As it is happening from earlier, in some cases it does not mean anything to the people or they do not want to think deeply about their activities towards the children. It is one of the main cause of child abuse in Maine. EASY TO GET WORK FROM THEM Child is not mentally strong enough and they have less power to argue with the elders. One can easily push them to do any work against their will. It plays a vital roll in child abuse in Maine. LESS PAYMENT OF LABOUR Children are immature, and generally treated as unskilled or less skilled manpower. So they are paid less remuneration if they are taken to do any work. It is also a kind of abuse. Again as the remuneration of child labour is lower, the employer forced them to do work according to his will. RICH PARENTS ARE BUSY TO TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN Another kind of abuse is seen in the rich family. The riches are always busy with their income and wealth management. They do not get much time to pass with their children. The children are deprived from the love and the affection and they are bound to follow the order of their parents. Again some parents are involved with some unethical activities, which cause various bad effects on children. SOCIAL CLASS DIFFERENCE Social class difference means the difference people in their social status. The children of low status peoples are not treated as the higher. It creates problem in society as well as creates problem in their friend circle. It is the great reason of abuse of many child. LACK OF AWARENESS In Maine several people knows about law and child abuse but there are some facts that shows that people are not actually aware about the child abuse. LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS They study of human rights in Maine shows that people are not aware as well as they don't know properly about human right. CHILDREN DO NOT GET THEIR RIGHT The children are weak and dependable on others. They have a less power to argue or achieve their right. Thus they abuse and neglected here and there. THEY ARE BEGINNING IN THE SEXUAL HABIT AND CAN BE USED IN SEXUAL PURPOSE The children are not mature and they are treated as minor. They have less power to get the proper judgement. So if they are sexually abused they have less to do. Besides this they are in the beginning of sexual life. It makes them curious and interested with it. But often it happens that they are sexually abused and used in several place. 2.3. METHODS To prepare an imperialistic literature review on Maine several articles and journals are reviewed and given attention to how the authors organize and integrate the information into their review. This literature review focuses on empirical studies published in referred journals -primary and secondary sources. This literature review contains more than 10 articles, of which more than 6 articles are collected from library and others from internet are reviewed. Besides this to focus on the basic factors and to understand the cause of child abuse, many writing were reviewed from library and searched in internet. 2.4. SUBJECTS In some cases the children are deprived from their social rights. The subject matter of this literature reviews is those children who are deprived from their right in different ways and abused in the society. The information of those children collected from the journals and articles from reputed publisher and the articles published in internet. The basic target of this literature review is to bring out the reasons of child abuse in Maine. 3. FINDINGS From the review of all this articles and the writings several cause, reason or factor has found. There are many social, environmental and logistical factors are responsible for the child abuse. Every researcher and writers found and focused on the key issue of the child abuse. They discussed it from many angle and perspective. They also shown and drawn a clear and distinctive picture on this issue. Sometimes it is seems that it is simply a paper work to show the writers creativity or writing skill, sometimes it seems that it is a extraordinary works for the well being to the children. The researchers show many solution or way to prevent the child abuse. But the real fact is the solution remain in the paper works, they do not see the light. Now all of us know about child abuse and the solution of child abuse. The main thing is we have to apply the solutions to prevent the abuse. 4. CONCLUSION Child abuse is a common sign of a troubled nation. To face this innate national problem successfully, it is important to set up goals with short range and long range. In short range goals analysis programs for all family should be included where it is considered as a problem. Here is mentionable that the government and related institution's contribution is most essential to put into practice of this programme. Long range program may be to make awareness among the people. This also calls for a concerted attempt to face with such origin trouble as poverty, hunger, joblessness, unhealthy ness, residential problems etc. There are very problems in making poor the social soil and spawn others. It raises the stress function of our community and is making us more helpless to translating this pressure into child abuse.
