Moore holds deregulation introduced during the Reagan era as responsible for the current economic crisis. Another reason that has been highlighted in the movie is the greed of business executives who forced the government to implement policies that benefited the richest population in America that constituted only 1 percent. Such policies along with deregulation were wholly unethical as they went against the interests of the middle classes and the poor. The resultant immoral outcomes were most apparent in Michigan state (MacKinnon, 2010, p.282). Capitalism Capitalism is an economic system that encourages private ownership of both production processes and the capital goods.

The ultimate goal of production of goods and services is making profit in a free market. Capitalism promotes private investments and private control over large business enterprises as opposed to government controlled economy. In a capitalistic economy, the consumption and allocation of national resources are dictated by price and profits with virtually no control from the government. This documentary movie talks about America’s inclination towards capitalism, owning excessive belongings, the greediness of corporate.

Moore then goes on to speculate a situation where working class will revolt against the corporation and take over control. The movie also brought forward a scary fact that people holding important positions are not getting enough remuneration. For instance, pilots of regional airports are underpaid to the extent that their salaries are even less than managers of fast food restaurants. Another example of blatant capitalism cited is one juvenile detention center in Pennsylvania where judges are paid in exchange of inmates (Edlit, 2010).

Moore also mentioned about bank loans spiraling out of control. He gave the example of Hacker family from Peoria, Illinois. They took loan from Citibank and the end result was that they lost their home. In addition, they ended up working for the bank for a meager salary of $ 1,000. The depression was reflected by one statement made by Randy Hacker, as he was getting rid of his furniture by burning them: “I understand why people lose their minds and go start shooting people” (Edlit, 2010).

However, Moore’s arguments in his movie did not always have any logical explanations. He could not explain the reason why banks were indulged in such lending that went out of control, and why consumers were forced to take such loans which became almost impossible for them to repay. The real picture is frightening and has occurred over a period of last 13 years. During this period, stock market crashed twice giving way to global economic crisis. The common people in American suffered the worst with American households losing “$ 5 trillion in the 2000 dot-com bust and more than $ 7 trillion in the 2007 housing crash” (Stockman, 2013).

The recent improvement in the stock market position in the first quarter of 2013 has been the result of fake money from the Federal Reserve and not from any actual economic progress. Therefore the situation is in a precarious position with the latest Wall Street bubble in a state to explode (Stockman, 2013). In 2008, there has been a merger of three major investment banking systems of America; namely Bear Stearns, Lehmann Brothers, and Merrill Lynch. This created shocking waves in the American
