He gives the example of slavery, when Europeans came to America. They captivated the natives and made them their slaves. Gradually slavery came to an end and individuals got their respectable position. Furthermore it was considered that slavery is curse that is against human values and rights. Considering that slavery could come to an end in the same manner the injustice that prevails with women can also come to an end. This reading is about optimism, giving a ray of hope to girls that they will get their status, and they would emerge as successful and active citizens.

The author's way of making an argument is not quite appropriate as thoughts are quite haphazard and the writer tends to jump from one thought to another quite frequently. He does not establish his point and before that jumps from one topic to another. Another researcher who takes the same topic for analysis or revising might make his arguments easier to comprehend. The fluctuation of thoughts makes it difficult for individuals to understand the depth and relate to emotions therefore the author needs to be more precise and let the reader to enjoy the test not bombard him with different thoughts making it very tough to understand for them.

The author does make a compelling argument as he tries to incorporate different thoughts that support his stance. The viewpoints presented in the reading are valid and incorporate almost all aspects involved when it comes to violation of woman rights. The evidence provided regarding slavery seems quite compelling as it is gives a relevant timeframe and good understanding of the topic. Furthermore it also seeks to provide a peak in the emotions or the mental state of the girl who experienced such brutality.

Apart from this it also depicts bravery, despite the fact she was so scared to leave and go back to the place where there was so much torture and injustice she still chose to go back for the sake of other girls. This is a very good example of narrating how emotions and fear is suppressed when it comes to duty. Gender bias is the concept discussed in class which certainly relates to this reading. Gender bias is a very serious issue and an area of concern for all sociologists."But before analyzing the vicious circle of gender bias and existing realities of suppressing women-folk and examining the root causes of gender bias thinking, it is necessary to understand the meaning of bias in general and implications of these biases.

" (Nautiya, 209). Gender bias is basically about the disparity that persists in our society when it comes to the status of women. The inequality that prevails in our men dominant society is one of the most important issues that worry sociologists. This is also the most prominent issue raised in this reading. Furthermore the second issue rose in this reading and another major area of study for sociologist is slavery. This was also an important topic of discussion in class. Slavery has its branches from the time when Europeans started to colonize America.

The natives of the region were made slaves. This slavery continued for a very long period of time until human right activists started to voice their reservations against this brutality. Today slavery has practically reduced with the passage of time
