It also felt exhilarating to be the determinant of my own behavior, though with concerns from other, but at least I was my own person acting of own will and volition.
The responses from people were varied in delivery and content, as well as their strength, as the widely Asian population was curious why I would don such a daring flag in a country that is technically at war with North Korea. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

:Break a Social Norm

...The norm I chose is an unspoken rule. In Walmart, grocery stores, restaurants, and other public places, parents can be seen with children. Many children behave, but others do not. In my experience it is rare for anyone to calmly approach the parent and ask questions. Normally, people will talk to each other about the disruptive child, yell at the parent, remain silent, or shake their head in disapproval. I have chosen to calmly approach the parent with facts and to ask questions. I even had pamphlets about teaching children and a place to get help. These were provided by my local doctor’s office. I chose this approach for several reasons. The first is I do get irritated by disruptive children. I feel the need to define a...

Break a Social Norm

... Number] Breaking a Social Norm Experiment (Personal Narrative) Norms and traditions act as essentialsteeping stones of a society. Thus, it is highly unlikeable to go against them or twist them according to one’s desire. Moreover, people contribute in practising them to an extent that they become inevitable to break. Invading personal space of a person is considered unethical and rude act in our society. Thus, individuals expect to comply to this norm with full conviction that others will also do the same. To break this norm was seriously challenging as people often react in an unexpected manner due to unpredicted invasion. I chose this one after considerable thinking because of the explicit reaction I would receive through... it, which will...
