In this project, I will explore early life of Mrs. Jones as compared to mine. I met Mrs. Jones last week for the first time on Friday (24 March) while she was on visit to a community-based project in Kenya, Africa. Before she left on Tue (27 March), we had an interactive time where we shared our life experiences, and how they have influenced us to date. We shared on how different people like parents and neighbors influenced our lives and the impact they brought. Religious backgrounds and family values and how they have affected us in today’s life.
Having this assignment in mind, we went further and discussed our career lives where she incorporated her marriage and family life and how it started. Argument Mrs. Jones is 68 years old. She lives with her husband in Texas. She is an internal designer and a stylist. Mrs. Jones grew up in a family of five, her parents a younger brother and a younger sister and her. Both of her parents worked in the civil service and they were committed Christians. She used to attend Sunday school teachings in their church every Sunday.
At her young age she had no friends to play with, the only playmates she had were her dolls. She grew under the care of a very strict and harsh house help who kept her company most of the time. Her school life started at the age of five years at Mary Hill School. Her parents were strict and very protective; they always assumed they knew what was good for her. Among the many decisions they wanted to impose on her were her career choice. To them, they wanted their daughter to be a doctor and design was not part of their dream for any of their children.
Both of Mrs. Jones’s parents were high school graduates with high school diplomas. During their time, this excellent achievement earned them good jobs in the civil service since they were the elites of the society. To maintain the profile, they worked hard to make sure their children worked hard to become prominent persons in the society. For Mrs. Jones her parents managed to push her through becoming a doctor though it was not her passion. Due to that, she practiced medicine only for 15 years were she resigned to follow her passion in design, which she practices to date.
At the age of 25 years, just a year after graduating from the medical school and getting her first job, she married Mr. Jones whom she has lived with for 40 years. She confesses that in the 40 years of her marriage, they have neither separated not divorced. This she attributes to her strong Christian foundation her parents managed to lay for her. One year down into the marriage, they had gotten their first-born child, Jack to evade the pressure her parents had put on her. Their advice to her was to get children as early as possible if she wanted to educate them while still on employment. Mrs. Jones is a committed Christian who goes to Life ministries church in Texas.
She teaches children and she is the senior women educator in the church. When she was growing up her family’s relationship with their neighbors was not that good. It was a competitive world where everyone tried to outdo the other. Majority of their neighbors were wealthy and believed in power. This made them less caring of each other despite the fact that they were Christians. Analysis Mrs. Jones’
