Sociology is an interesting field of discipline among the social sciences. Like Mathematics, its applicability is universal. It is worthy to pause, look back, recognize and appreciate the great pioneers of sociology like Comte, Spencer, Weber, Marx, Durkheim, Parsons, among others (Fish). I know at this stage you are now in your prime years_ young, idealistic, vibrant and in the stage when you can accomplish a lot of things you want in life given the intellectual capacity, focus, support systems and opportunity.

My time has passed and now I am sharing these things to you as my legacy to your generation. I intend to share with you facts and realities of life which could possibly help you understand how things are and have become. Unfortunately, empirical evidence points out that globalization failed to manage its risks and challenges. It eventually widened the gap between the rich and poor nations. It was also responsible for several destabilizing forces associated with the increasing poverty, unfair market practices, negative rates of economic development, massive unemployment, instability of exchange rates, double-digit inflation rates, among others.” (Ogunsola). In tandem with globalization are the development of technology and the integration of information and communication technology (ICT).

Should there be one thing I wished that should have never been invented by mankind, it would be the technology on chemical, atomic, nuclear and other destructive weaponry. Rich countries raced for supremacy to all types of technologies. “ICT has become the driving force of globalization that in an exceptional rate, gave an impetus to the current wave of breakthroughs. It also became the ‘key’ for nations to participate in the ICT revolution”. With such development, this tandem changed drastically how the global world works, how people think, the
