IТY ISSUЕS: ТНЕ САSЕ SТUDY Name: Institution: Course: Instructor: Date: German, being located in Europe has big number of cities ranging from low class to high class such as Hamburg Dortmund Berlin among others. From definition transportation involves mobility of goods, substances and people from one location to another using various available means such as air or even water. Taking Berlin in context and its transport systems have made the growth of German as country putting in contextual factors such as historical background and world wars, political systems, governance, population, per capita income, technology, policy education standards among other major factors. Transport serves as major backbone to many developments to a city and a state as a whole which includes infrastructural, social and economic developments. I’m taking in considering some questions to exhaustively analyze the transport mechanism and strategies in Berlin. These questions give an aid to accessing some areas which transport has had a direct or indirect influence. The phases which transport in Berlin went through from the ancient times? What made transport in Berlin progress integratively compared to other cities like in china? What were contributions of transport system to German’ success in World War II? The effect transport has had to economic, social and infrastructural development of Berlin and Deutschland as a whole? What are majorly upgraded areas in transport comparing ancient times and current times? What are the challenges and difficulties the transport system is going through? What are the possible solutions to combat the challenges and difficulties the transport systems facing? First and foremost a Berlin transport system has edge leading technology through incorporation of sensors and radio receivers that are installed in most transport devices such as planes (Airbuses) and ships that embrace radar communication thus minimizing possibility of occurrences of accidents and ensuring it has embraced professionalism in recruitment of workers. Flights, double-decker buses, personal vehicles and boats and ships and electric trains in Berlin are serving as boosters to technological growth of German and being brought about by the smart control of the transport systems that have been herein mention. Secondly, as shown from various studies the public transports that dwells more on roads and railways to various sections of the city provides a sustainable and elaborate means of transport to the metropolitans working in the city and those of business travels compared to China in 2000 years ago public transport is miles away due to factors such as the number of trains transporting citizens, the fixed schedule two times of transportation are non fluctuating rates in fare. The elasticity of fares in most cases lowers morale of people in travelling and interferes with the planning modes of people thus constraining their budgets. However the public transport also provides boarding classes according ones financial position which higher class paying more compared to the lower classes, although some editions have captured this as a basis of criticism. Thirdly, strict policies of transport ministry in this city have seen the overgrown reliance on the transport systems. This includes setting up academies or training institutions to nurture their own experts instead of hiring already trained personnel which may have fake training or even forged testimonials as depicted in some zones globally such as in Shanghai’s China. The typical example is Air-Berlin which trains about 48 pilots annually and thus molding competence among its trainees. In addition growth of transport in Berlin has been prompted by the living standards and per capita income among citizens. Germany is among the first world countries , it has a majority of its citizens living above the united nation poverty level reference frame thus enabling the either to hire , board or by a means of transport through the process of traversing the country. This mainly depends on the nature of transportable goods in context; heavy products such as construction materials electronics as other industrial products call for road or railway transport while people and thus good that are perishable require very fast transport as air. Nevertheless, human factors such as availability of population play a key role in this because the ultimate goal of transportation is income and thus it calls a sustainable and prompting population that can be productive in manufacturing as well as be in a position to provide market to some the goods produced. Not only is transport vital in Deutschland but also to other countries to promote export and trade balance. The recruitment of youth as outlined in European, Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, 2008, Transport and logistics sector: Air Berlin, Germany (p. 3), the deployment of youth the industry has foreseen their tremendous growth this is due to their high motivated spirits and are flexible to work late hours. Above all is the strategic location of Berlin with making all modes of transport possible and elaborate. The presence of a large river in Berlin allows for water transport that also attracts tourist in so as conduct themselves in the city water and sea which allow for docking. Cycling with a diversified road transport under specified bike sections and other4 zones are shared with vehicles. The number of vehicles under private and public domain are also sustainable to scale up. The level of transport in Berlin During World War II German had a very strong army which managed to conquer most of its enemies because of the efficient railway system that facilitated the supply of animation to its militia, food and water which served as key requirements towards the success of the various kingdoms taking part in the warfare. French militia was conquered due to this shortcoming. The railway system was not just about assembling the railway and launching wagons on them but also an efficient monitoring system and administration to foresee the challenges, manage and solve the difficulties as well as develop programs that would ensure the success of the teams. Michael Howard pointed out that the development of railways created a robust new way of military advantage in Europe in the mid-nineteenth century.              The success of the German militia supported by the strong transport saw the government invest more in transport since it had already seen the essence of having a working transport network. This led to expansion of road transport, waterways and airlines which as a result led to sustainable food supply, communication channels, infrastructure, technology, natural resources, health care and population. Suburbanization is the growth of the estates of a given city in context to levels of being towns or cities as like in Washington where some suburbs have met the thresholds of being cities which translates in cities having cities as its suburbs. Hise magnetic LA suburban (p. 1) WILLIAM F OGBURN, theory’s of suburbanization gives a concrete basis as why Berlin has some of its suburbs really grown to the threshold of cities. The various suburbs have a large population of people working in Berlin as plant operators, business owners and other fields who sufficient transport networks to ensure elaborate working conditions and marketing of their various products. Government policies have made the middle class migrate to the suburbs so as to give room to business owners and republic to construct, more revenue earning projects. This in turn calls for public transport to transport the people to their work places. Location of financial institutions in central business district of many cities still calls upon reliance on transport to access financial services although this is being reduced by technological money transfers such as e-transfers by credit and visa cards. Challenges are mere problems and difficulties faced when in the process of handling a task. Transport as a key factor to any city has to be faced with a number of problems emanating from the various factors which are herein discussed. First and foremost transport in Berlin is faced by competition from other countries such as Washington that have flights with same quality services as those provided by locals. In addition the delays that have been registered in commissioning of new airports has embarrassed transport systems. Moreover, high accumulation of a number businesses and people in the city that share transport with the traffic. In addition to traffic congestion and inadequate packing space in Berlin has long last threat to transport. Other minor challenges witnessed in Berlin include pollution making air transport difficult, increased levels of traffic from both public and private and finally accidents and safety. From the challenges faced by transport clearly strategies have and being laid to ensure the challenges are minimal and the system are ever improving. Some the strategies include support stakeholders in disaster preparedness and handling challenges that regularly emerge. Researches are being conducted on the problems and challenges facing the transport system and possible solutions are evaluated and implemented. As depicted from interviews and scholars From (Air Scoop, 2007b) ‘We see these “risks” as challenges that will be overcome with the successful hybrid business model. Its unique position clearly separates us from other low-cost carriers (LCC) and from the problems of overcapacity, where the battle for market shares is carried out almost exclusively through pricing and, as a result, through cost cutting. Air Berlin takes advantage of the opportunity of the accelerating consolidation process. The acquisitions of the DBA and LTU are examples of such participation.’ Fuels prices as in other petroleum importing countries remain a big challenge because of its unpredictable curve and thus launching a common market for its fuels id seen as the way out of this problem. Finally is reducing on transport systems that have an effect on climatic change and resolve in promoting the environmental friendly transport modes such as electrical power driven systems and hybrid vehicles. We can try to analyze the effects of transport through considering people, goods and services also known as ideas. The flow of goods mainly relies on transport whose immediate effect is expansion of market, market expansion includes setting up prices of goods, improving on the process of commercialization, greater market consumption and biodiversity in technological application. On the hand, improved people transport has a greater effect than even goods because most of the good will need human management. Traveling through long distances requires an elaborate means of transport incase of emigration and immigration. However intercity traveled in need of employment or short term services also calls for sustainable transport system. This can also see people working over long distances because of the availability of sustainable transport systems. This minor and major travels serve as a source of incentives to business men and government running these projects. Considering the movements of ideas which co-relates to moving goods and people are equally important to see the project improve because they are from abstract ideas that they are molded to tangible projects. This for example is the distributions of newspapers and daily editions which employs crisscrossing the country for market reasons. The spreading of farm machinery and latest techniques employed in farming and other areas also require transport. The implications of standard transport systems are quite familiar which most commonly are resettling of building to give room for improvement of given roads and railways, spreading of people regardless of ethnicity and improvement in communication systems             Traditionally transport systems comprised of animals such as horses, oxen and donkeys and the means of transport was traction and locomotion by steam engines such as Newcomen’s, the large internal combustion engines and wind flights while road transport used vehicles whose wheels were pure metallic with extremely very low speeds. In other cases the quantity of the goods to be transported were less that the quantity of fuels because the main fuel by then was coal which has a low calorific values and its bulkiness was the major challenge, however the costs were cheaper compared current times and technological application was very low. As a method of improving livelihood transport sector also called for integration and comparing with the ancient times, the sector has had a lot of improvement. The steam powered engines were replaced with internal combustions engines the compression and spark ignition engines. The spark and compression engines are however environmental unfriendly and thus they are being faced out by hybrid engines which van run on fuels as well as charging an accumulator. The turbo charged engines are also economical engines that replaced the ancient locomotives and is very powerful and very economical on fuel. The bow power boats have replaced by motorboats and ship which resemble a floating island accommodating all kinds of sports and leisure as a sort of technological empowerment.
