This is a crique to the World Trade Organization (WTO) that seems careless to some of the global concerns. The WTO proves to be fundamentally undemocratic and fails to be a transparent institution (Johnson). It is also an institution that ought to promote the global understanding and peace. However, this is not the case because they are self-centered and place their own interests first instead of the peoples. For global security to be enhanced, the international agreements must respect democracy, trade systems and people’s rights. Again, another factor that causes crises is the lack of financial incentives that are used to recycling of products and materials. When there is lack of finance to cater for such services, the status of the nations gets worse as the materials are dumped in a hazardous manner that are harmful to the environment (Johnson 48). This is also as a result of the WTO increase in inequality for the majority of the world. Due to this, people are also not in a state to protect themselves and are easily getting killed which can attribute to the WTOinsensitivity. The re-use of these materials are also being abused and re-used in the wrong manner that creates tension. At the same, the WTO also the poor and the small countries and favors majorly the rich and powerful nations. This is oppression to the small countries where they lack the financial support to cater for their costs on the global concerns. In this way, June criticizes the kind of scenario that the organization creates and asks students to be responsible with equality and determine the good fate that may come along with equality.
