The paper “Merits of Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Al Missned in Educational and Social Projects of Qatar" is an inspiring version of a term paper on social science. In the recent past, there are several women who have significantly aided in worldly achievements. Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Al Missned is one of the heroines in the contemporary world based on her achievements, the difficulties she overcame, and the way she has been accepted by the population of Qatar. Sheikha Moza has built a distinguished image for herself through her efforts in education and social work while becoming the face of educational reform efforts across the Arab World.

Ray Browne from Gale Research Inc. documented a publication entitled “Heroes and Heroines serve as models and leaders of people and nations” (Browne, 1990). This is what Sheikha Moza has been doing in recent decades. Sheikha Moza has played a significant role in improving educational, social, and cultural life in modern Qatar. Sources affirm that Sheikha Moza has been actively engaged in education among other social reforms in Qatar for many years. She has played a crucial role in spearheading national and international developmental projects all over the world.

She has managed to achieve this after she was appointed the chairperson of the Qatar Foundation. In 2003, she was appointed as the chair in a department in UNESCO that deals with education. Her dedication to education has resulted in many distinguished national initiatives. As a matter of fact, she is a recognized figure in supporting educational initiatives and helping students in the international scene (Tollefson, 1993). For example, she has helped learners in Iraq, Pakistan, and Lebanon after the wars and national disasters that the countries have experienced.

Her vision is that education is a legitimate right for every child. This is the main reason why she has been doing her best to protect the right of education in some of the paramount war zones like Afghanistan and Gaza. Furthermore, she did not forget the students with exceptional needs. Recently, she started a new strategic development project on “Education in Conflict” in 2009. This has earned her recognition for her leadership skills. In addition, she has also helped a significant youth development initiative known as Silatech which is aimed at creating meaningful job opportunities for the youth in the society (Qatar Foundation, 2012).

Her Highness Sheikha Moza has also played a significant role in fostering cultural understanding and tolerance in Qatar. In fact, Sheikha Moza truly cherishes the rich tradition and the way of life of the citizens of Qatar. This cultural heritage is what has allowed Qatar to assume a unique Arab contribution to the modern world. Sheikha Moza asserts that the citizens of Qatar can uphold their heritage and still maintain their identity according to Islamic and Arab learning. Therefore, Sheikha Moza plays a leading role in revitalizing Qatari history and culture.

Her involvement in these issues made her the chairperson of the education foundation of Qatar (Qatar Committee for Alliance of Civilizations, 2011). Additionally, she has also ensured that the Islamic and Arabic books are included in the World Digital Library. Through all these contributions, Sheikha Moza was requested to be a member of the Alliance of Civilizations; an assembly that fosters intercultural dialogue. When she joined this group, she was appointed as the ambassador. Through these and other programs, Sheikha Moza has significantly contributed to connecting the Qataris with their rich past culture and global exchange of ideas.

It is also clear that her membership and association with the projects mentioned prove that she has spread the Qatari and Arab culture globally (Toumi, 2011). Research asserts that Sheikha Moza has also played a significant role in helping women to maintain a better status in society (Browne, 1990). Recently, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra performed in New York in a distinctive cultural event that was meant to empower women globally. Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser is viewed as a pioneer in the development of the lives of the feminine gender.

She has achieved this by tackling some of the critical issues that affect women. Some of these issues include poverty, discrimination, lack of education, and sexual assault. The Qatar Foundation, which is chaired by Sheikha Moza, aims at women empowerment and gender equality. According to Sheikha Moza, women are viewed as the heart of society and the family. The performance staged in New York proved that music was a bridge to the diverse culture worldwide. All these projects and efforts have proved quite successful because nowadays, women are involved in numerous national activities worldwide.

One of the most successful projects aimed at empowering women was the Sidra Medical and Research Center which was supported with a donation of $7.9 billion. This project aims at research, training, and management of children and women (Qatar Foundation, 2012). Additionally, Sheikha Moza has also been involved in helping individuals with exceptional needs. Earlier this year, Sheikha Moza launched the Fifth Shafallah International Forum under the theme “Crisis, Conflict and Disability: Ensuring Equality”.

This ceremony took place at the Shafallah Center for children with special needs. This is one of the most fundamental forums that was been established in regard to individuals with exceptional needs. In this forum, Sheikha Moza stated that she was ready to make a difference for individuals with disabilities in order to ensure that their rights are in line with their interests (Qatar Foundation, 2012). In conclusion, Sheikha Moza has been of significant help in society. The information presented above shows that Sheikha Moza has played a vast role in ensuring that the educational, social, and cultural life in Qatar is improved.

This signifies that women in society also have a chance of making decisions that can improve the state of the world (Sharp, 2004).
