This article is a bit harsh on the poor. No one really chooses to be poor and no one would like to be exposed to the problems that the poor have. By exposing the poor to the rest of the population in the nation, this is not only demeaning but inhumane as well. The poor may be relying on the support from government and the taxes of the rich and those in the middle class, but this does not mean they also do not contribute minimally to this taxation. Even those earning minimum wages still pay minimal taxes even though the purchase of food and other commodities.
The fact that the majority of the poor are immigrants who work for the rich who are paying them the minimum wages has failed to be mentioned in the article. It is only fair to mention that these people are poor because they are being paid less since the majority are immigrants and others in the nation illegally hence being taken advantage of by the rich.
