Due Analysis of the Declaration of Independence According to Jefferson, the ment, “all Men are created equally” and “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights’ are obviously true and do not have to be proven. The truth is held unquestionable and is, therefore, not subject to debate because it is obvious. Truths can be stated precisely without having to defend or elaborate them. These ideas were familiar and self-evident to most Americans at the time. American people at the time were deeply religious and quite familiar with the idea of universal human equality as depicted from Christianity teachings and English republicanism. Jefferson’s choice of the particular words used in the declaration was to express a shared understanding of “the American mind. “He showed what amounted to a collective political creed by stating that certain propositions were “self-evident” truths.
The Declaration of Independence states that among the “truths” that Americans hold to be “self-evident” is “all Men are created equally.” (Jefferson,1). This statement related to all people regardless of their gender, occupation or color. It means that we are either created equally by birth or naturally political equals; therefore, no one is by birth a subject of a ruler or is automatically the ruler of others. Political equality thus does not define human equality. We are all created moral equals, and we are of equal value and worth in the eyes of the creator.
Jefferson stated, “…all Men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights...” (Jefferson,1). This statement provides evidence that the declaration was a precursor to the bill of rights. Inalienable rights are those that cannot be given up even if there was an alternative to it. According to the concept of inalienable rights section in the Declaration of Independence liberty, life and pursuit of happiness is a right. The existence of unalienable rights does not mean that a person cannot be subjected to attacks, false imprisonments and other forms of oppression. Unalienable rights mean that such rights are not morally justifiable, and therefore we have a ground for moral complaint.

... Introduction Previous legislation protecting Americans from invasion of private property was not clear on what citizens can or cannot do when faced with a situation where their lives are threatened. This was a time the law enforcers seemed incapacitated to control the high home attack rates that plagued the residents. It got to an extent that films were produced to highlight these issues affecting the society. The term “Make my day” was pulled from a movie directed by Clint Eastwood, whose theme was based on runaway crimes going on in America (Jackson, p. 91). “Make my day law” was first introduced in Colorado in 1985 out of the need to control high home invasion crime rates that was rampant in this state. ... John Miltons Areopagitica Areopagitica was a speech composed by John Milton to the Parliament of England back in 1644 to contest licensing and censorship. It is considered one of the most prominent and persuasive defenses of the press freedom. Milton specifically composed this speech to present an argument against the Parliament and its ban of unprincipled books as a way of protecting writers against licensing. This is because he believes that all writers have the right to share their ideas and articulate their emotional state irrespective of whether they are positive or not. He therefore asks the Parliament to be sensitive and allow the freedom of publishing books. In England, some literature materials considered negative were... John...
