On ( Jim, 188), DeMint tries to enlighten the people on the poor leadership being exercised so as to help save America from being doomed. He tries exercising all means of making himself clear to his people and persuades them to vote for leaders who can be able to make solid decisions for their country progress and which can help solve economic problems. All his efforts are usually in vain as history usually repeats itself after the elections during which the same leaders he had opposed get re-elected. This shows that the author terms the leaders as underperforming thus if not changed the country shall continue experiencing a negative economic growth.
DeMint had the nature of being on the opposing side always and he refers to himself as the senator No (Jim, 213). The author quite often votes No to everything that the government officials propose in his era. This is due to the disbelieve he has to the ruling leaders of the country that they cannot be able to make the right decisions and his fear of enforcement of enforcement of new rules and policies that would make thing to be done differently. He brings out the case of Obama for instance making the debt ceiling of U.S to rise by almost two trillion dollars due to poor decisions. The book refers to these as indefensible fiscals responsibilities because it will lead the country to an increase in its debt within the next coming years. As a result of this, the author state that the decisions which he terms poor would lead the country to critical state of which no change can better it.
