Shared Values are the common acceptations of society or a particular group of people. Most of the members of the particular community believe these values are really important to their wellbeing and pride. Although most of the shared values are not accepted by the law instance of differences in shared values can be problematic to an individual. Cast, surname, religious groups, poverty, education and skin color are some of the commonly shared values in the society. In addition that there are numerous norms that are accepted as shared values in different communities.

In some societies, people of the low cast, dark skin color and different religious groups are highly mistreated and result in physical and psychological harassments to the affected individual. However, in many societies, these values are considered only when relationships such as marriages are a maid. An instance of difference in shared values can also be seen in the literature. An instance of differences in “shared” values affect not only the affected individual but also the individual’s extended family’s life.

When a person with different shared values attached to a family, a particular society may refuse the whole family as a result.
