Article Review The discusses problems concerning New World Order and the impact of new system on the nations. Since the end of the WWII, the USA has occupied a dominant position in the world as the powerful political and economic leader. Political globalization is an active trend which has replaced the old system of international relations including economic, political, social, environmental and cultural spheres. Among them is the need to substitute attitudes that stressed the unity of humankind for those that stressed parochial national loyalties to independent sovereign states.

The author identifies the new world order and the system of New Imperialism with the USA and its global power. He associates previous and current policies of the state with racism and hegemony which influence division of power and spheres of influence between the nations. The author criticizes military policy of the government and underlines the important role of self-determination of other states. The reading shows that there are diverse views on the problem of American dominant position in the world and its role in economic and social life of different regions.

On the one hand, it is impossible to deny global power and leadership role of the USA when the winds of international change again shifted and the world confronted world conquest. On the other hand, the problem of the USA global hegemony consists to a large extent in the way in which it is put into words, than just a neutral vehicle of political meanings and attitudes. New Imperialism followed by the USA has opened the door to a paradigmatic revolution in the study of world politics in which several perspectives on international relations competed for attention in the period of intellectual ferment that followed.

Not only does the USA glorify the role of the state in political life, it also advances a political philosophy that rationalized war as an instrument of national policy. The article illustrates ideas learnt in the class and shows the diversity of different perspectives on the USA international politics. References 1. Arundhati, Roy. The New American Century.
