Extract of sample "Ethical Values of the Americans"

?First and 15th May Ethical we To begin with, all the nations of the world are all praise for the US for its diversified achievements and establishments. No surprise, that this nation stands first among all the nations of the world with many ethical values like honesty, courage and integrity. I personally feel that we the Americans have proved to the rest of the world with our brave and courageous deeds, that we stand second to none when it comes to courage. The American history speaks for itself about the bravery displayed by the American people in the wars and in times of need. My dear teacher and fellowmen, the 9/11 incident though left our nation in plight, it indeed is the courage of the Americans that has seen the culprit of that incident die in tremor. Friends, there are several such incidents demonstrating the courage of the American people today, and their understanding and adhering to it. Americans have set an example to the entire mankind just not with our bravery but also with our impeccable hospitality. We have taught the world the concept of respect and this characteristic in fact has been an element of admiration to the entire world. The Americans today are not considered as aliens by people of any other nation for, the respect shown and the hospitality offered by the Americans is absolutely overwhelming and makes them feel home. Today, our hospitality, respect and compassion have turned the world’s attention towards our nation. Though there are several incidents demonstrating our hospitality, in an unforgettable incident that took place, a French soldier had been so impressed with our hospitality, here is what he had to say about it “Having returned to France, I hasten to thank you very much for the welcome you gave us while sojourning in your beautiful United states. Never, never shall I forget your fraternal love” (LETTER FROM BLUE DEVIL). All such incidents would only go in favor of the argument that the Americans today have a great understanding of such ethical values and have been adopting them since ages. These praised characteristics of the Americans begin at stages as early as schooling and are hence inculcated within us. We here at MCP are blessed as we are just not taught the regular curriculum but about “LIFE” by inducing in us, the importance of many civic virtues we come across in our daily life and how effective they can be when followed. Dear friends, the efforts of our teachers have not gone in vain, for we have adopted these civic virtues seriously, thoroughly and completely. Talking about incidents that demonstrate the understanding and adhering of the MCP scholars to these ethical values would take days together. So my dear teacher and fellowmen, let me just tell you about a couple of incidents to have a better understanding about this. Sixteen year old John from MCP was a good student by nature and had a clean track record. One day he had been accused of stealing a wallet from Kevin, and he denied it. Kevin was actually not sure if it was John who stole the wallet and he had not had the courage to blame john. The very reason why he couldn’t do that was that John was diligent, intelligent and honest. Though there were no evidences of John doing that, he could not stand his conscience pricking him and he went straight to Kevin and admitted his mistake. Though he was aware that his mistake wouldn’t see light, it was his honesty that made him confess his mistake and turned him into a better person. This incident tells us about the adoption of ethical values by MCP scholars and actually displaying them in times of need. Here comes another incident demonstrating the MCP scholars’ adherence to civic virtues. Here dear friends, I have to point out that though we learn about civic virtues, their application in real life is of paramount importance, because it is hard to practice than preach. David, another student at MCP was gloomy, rash and ignorant by nature. He was considered a shrinking violet by everybody as he never opened up and consequently had no friends. Though people knew he can be reformed, nobody was bold to do that. But Marcus, who was his contemporary and also a student at MCP, tried speaking to him initially. But David who was heedless was no ears to Marcus and wanted to see if Marcus would accept him as a friend for what he was. Marcus didn’t give up and actually accepted David as a friend for what he was. This made David happy and gave a chance to Marcus to reform him and today David has a great career and wonderful life. Though everybody praises David for the healthy change, David attributes this success to Marcus and says it was Marcus’s selflessness that day which changed his life today. This is another incident that tells us about the adoption of a great civic virtue “Selflessness” by the MCP scholars. All these incidents would enlighten us about the Americans’ understanding and adherence to many untold and unmentioned but important civic virtues. But here at the same time one thing has to be admitted that not all people do this and certainly a set of people in the society are actually an exemption to this concept. But if considered in general many people adopt these different ethical values and the fact that this very understanding begins from an early stage is quite appealing. Many people today in the US have a clear understanding of these values and are doing a great job in adhering to these civic virtues like empathy, responsibility, fairness, integrity etc. It also gives me immense pleasure in letting you all know that we at MCP have inculcated all these ethical values and have been following them since a long time. So friends, all the discussions above and many such incidents would only end up proving to world that the Americans and scholars at MCP today just not have the understanding of these ethical values but also implement them in times of need, for good things are good only when put to use.
