? ID Lecturer Global Issues This paper discusses how global issues have affected the people from different walks of life and how these global concerns have meant that the society has to change its course over a period of time every now and then. The ramifications involved with these global issues and the measures adopted to tackle them are important and have been outlined within the length of this paper. Introduction The world of today is plagued with a number of issues. These come in all shapes and sizes. They have a very drastic effect on the global populace and the problems seem to increase with each passing day. These global issues need to be taken care of because these break the basis of sanity within the day to day affairs of the people. It also makes the point apparent that suggests these global issues are becoming bigger than these used to be in the past. With changing time dimensions, the problems have started to become bigger and the effects have magnanimously increased which is a cause of concern. Some of these global issues comprise of the challenges that face businesses and multinational companies, the environmental problems, the child labor debate, the role of capitalism in the wake of business regimes, the cultural angle within the governments, improper educational quarters around the world, failing healthcare standards, the rise of terrorism, growing poverty, and the inadequate role of the world’s leading organizations like United Nations, World Bank, etc. Analysis and Role of Business Concerns These global issues therefore take their basis from the above-mentioned pointers. The reason for this has been discussed by the people who want to bring about a change within the business and societal domains on a proactive basis, but then again it is not this easy to undertake in the first place. What remains significant is the basis of comprehending how these issues have created problems for the people at large and the society in more ways than one (Abeles, 2001). To start with, one can easily talk about the challenges that business realms and multinational concerns face on a regular basis. This is demonstrated in the numerous hurdles and problems that these business concerns face on a consistent basis. It has also been depicted through the role of the respective governmental domains as to how value is at times missing from the organizational levels (Edwards, 2012). This is something that takes a lot of flak at the hands of the top management entities which are working in an organization and which have a fair enough say in making up the organizational dynamics in essence. The multinational corporations are similarly facing the same problems on a regular basis. They are being at the receiving end of a number of steps that have been taken by the government at large and which focus on the premise of creating rifts with the relevant public domains and stakeholders that are varied and widespread in different cross-sections of the society. What is quintessential to take note of here is the ideology that these stakeholders need to be taken in the loop, without which success cannot be realized in the most basic sense. These issues are therefore taking up a lot of time for these business hubs which have planned to make it big within the global quarters yet face hurdles every now and often due to lingering and pressing concerns, raised by varied individuals and other corporations and companies. The need is to allocate proper resources under such realms to make sure that success comes about in full circle as far as the challenges for the business organizations and corporations are concerned. Addressing them would actually be seen as the first step towards solving such issues without a doubt. Issue of Environment Another global issue is of the environmental pollution that has played havoc with the lives of the people. It is this subject that has been much debated and hence given attention for all the right reasons. The global warming discussion is also linked with the environmental issue because the earth’s atmosphere is changing directions at a cut throat pace every year. The environmental issue is such that it affects the whole world and hence one region cannot just limit it to their respective regions. The affects can be witnessed just about everywhere and hence the policies need to be drafted in such a way that the entire mankind achieves the benefit out of such policies and rules (Harvey, 1973). The global bodies that are doing their work tasks in accordance with the charter that they have got are answerable and accountable to the people at large, because it is their duty to produce results which would mean success for the mankind and the closure of the environmental concerns at large. The need of the time is to find a way where success can be witnessed in quantifiable proportions and where negativities could be stopped. Pollution is one deterrent that needs to be taken care of and that too in an outright fashion. The Child Labor Debate The child labor debate similarly is another global issue that needs to be comprehended in due accordance of the worldly concerns. This is because child labor means that the entire human populace would suffer at the hands of wrong policies and regulations that are in place on a regular basis. The need is to find out where the shortcomings have entered into the system and what could be done to make sure that the children do not suffer on this count at all. Rather the attention should be paid towards making these children visit schools and get acquainted with the study norms as these are significant towards the basis of their future, and which would essentially mean that they will become better human beings when they grow up. However, this is one problem that has lingered on for so long now and a positive end does not seem to come in an effective manner. The child labor discussions therefore emanate from the regions where education is not being properly instilled within the children of today, and where policies are slack and negligent (Edmonds, 2010). This rests mostly on the shoulders of the people who can bring about a change yet are unable to do so due to their own ulterior motives. Also the role of the government within these nations is somewhat of an important one because they have to decide what they need to do and how to get their act together within such understandings. Hence the child labor premise takes significance because it puts the entire emphasis on getting things right and in a proper order by keeping the rightful blame on the people who are unable to bring about a major difference within the lives of the children and their families. The Stigma of Capitalism Capitalism is another subject that has been seen as a global issue. It is because capitalism is indeed an economic system which takes into consideration the private ownership of the production basis, creation of goods and services in order to extract incomes and profits, the capital accumulation, competitive markets, wage labor and voluntary exchange mechanisms. Since the economists believe that governments of different countries of the world do not have a complete control over the markets, the significance of capitalism becomes bigger within such a scenario. It is being seen as a bad omen for the people living in varied regions of the world and hence they try their best to get rid of this element in more ways than one. However, there are debates available which suggest a thing or two which is in good stead regarding the capitalism perspectives (Thurow, 1997). Then again, there are other opinions available which keep on coming back as far as the capitalism debate is concerned within the economic and business domains of present times. The need is to understand how it can affect business regimes and what negativities can arise from the relevant quarters so that useful solutions could be extracted at the earliest and without much fuss. Cultural Tenets within Organizations The role of culture within the business organizations and how these leave a long lasting impact is indeed a point that needs much significance, and within the length of this paper its mention is all the more important. This is because the outsourcing avenues can only come about when there are concerted efforts to make sure that the cultural domains are being deciphered properly, and when businesses understand that they have to co-exist more than anything else. This would warrant for serious success at the hands of business hubs which are spread in different corners of the world, and which shall indeed be the cornerstone of earning better profits for one and all. The need of the time is to find out how the cultural manifestations can leave a long term imprint on the growing business domains, and how this would warrant immense understanding of the people who hail from different backgrounds. It would provide them vision to set things right, and a clear cut ideology of co-existing which remains very quintessential (Simosi, 2006). The cultural ideology is therefore banking heavily on how sane the decisions have been made at the organizational level, and what kind of outcomes lie in the waiting for the organizations on a day to day basis. This would form the basis of achieving new milestones, garner in partnerships and build solid rapport with the publics at large. This would also implicate for profits which remain important for any business at the end of the day. The Useful Role of Education Education remains a very significant premise and one which comes directly under the global issues. This must be resolved as amicably as possible as the world’s different regions have improper educational standards. The children of one part of the world are not being educated in the same way as are the children in other regions, which shall leave a very bad taste in the mouth. Understanding of the most basic issues that are plaguing the field of education is indeed very vital because it is the basis of achieving harmony amongst the related ranks. But then again, proper concentration needs to be paid towards the fact that education is a global issue and it needs to be resolved with complete attention paid towards the problem at hand. This would mean that the world’s largest organizations which are doing something worthwhile for the cause of the children are given avenues to properly deploy their relevant resources (Yorke, 1999). It would also mean that the governments within varied countries of the world are being encouraged to move out of their zones and explore new pathways under which children can achieve more and more. However, having proper systems in place to impart education remains a very integral issue, and one which must be given due significance within the related settings. Since education is a natural right of every human being, there should be measures undertaken by the people who believe in a positive change for the sake of the society. This would mean that the stakeholders need to come out positively and make their mark in a very pragmatic manner. This would ensure that there are results for one and all to see in the long run. The Need for Uplifting Health Standards The failing healthcare standards are also an aspect that demands serious significance and more so by the organizations that can bring about a huge difference. The healthcare premise is now being seen as a major obstacle in the wake of achieving statistics which are manageable and quantifiable. The need is to understand where the problems lie and how to manage them in accordance with the changing standards within a society. This would mean that there are proper healthcare codes that need to be picked upon and promulgated to good effect, in order to bring about a sense of sanity within the related ranks. The healthcare premise is such an important one that it can easily be regarded as the moral fabric of the people. They are inter-twined and inter-knitted to one another through this healthcare phenomenon, and hence they will only be able to achieve wellness when their health domains are covered in an adequate and proper way. The healthcare standards need to be picked up because these would ensure that the stakeholders are doing their jobs properly, and without much fuss (Aouad, 2009). The world’s largest healthcare institutions like the World Health Organization (WHO) should make their mark at ensuring that the different nations of the world are more proactive at combating disease than merely reacting to an outbreak. The Curse of Terrorism Another global issue is that of terrorism which has hurt the cause of society more than any other issue so to speak. This is because terrorism has been talked about at great length by the different people and stakeholders at large. It has been the root cause of instilling death and destruction within any society of the world and the responsibility lies totally with the people who could have brought a positive change yet failed to do so. It is a fact that terrorism has now become bigger than it was in the past and its consequences and ramifications have gone over the top. People are dying daily and getting injured in bomb blasts, firing and sniper incidents, grenade attacks, and so on and so forth. The result of all this activity has been in the form of non-comprehension of the fact that terrorism is akin to death at the end of the day (Kang, 2006). It has meant a huge amount of destruction for the peoples of the world, and there is absolutely no denying the very fact. Much more needs to be done than is being done today to make sure that terrorism gets subsided and there has to be proper efforts by the people who are in charge of the world’s order. This would warrant that the communities living in different areas and regions of the world are able to heave a sigh of relief which is so very significant. Conclusion and Recommendations In essence, all these issues need to be given due importance because they are hurting the cause of mankind in a number of different ways. There has to be a proper balance that dictates how well these global issues are being analyzed and what adequately sound mechanisms are in place to resolve them. It is always a good idea to make sure that these issues are studied on a proactive basis because the end results of these issues are heinous to state the least. The world’s top and leading decision-makers should also get their act together and touch upon the weak areas which must be tapped so that success comes about in full circle, and there are not any shortcomings for the sake of the people living in this world (Wilkes, 2005). The global issues need to be resolved amicably and a ‘sooner the better’ approach would mean immense harmony and success for all concerned. The world of today must be given its due so that it is able to achieve what it wants to achieve. The people remain very significant because when they comprise, success will easily be understood. Now what lies in the waiting is the manner under which people can touch new heights and gain confidence no matter how trying these issues have been or what kind of imposing exuberance has been displayed thus far. This is pivotal towards a creating a world which looks up to its future generations yet doing its best to give them what they need the most at the present. Bibliography Abeles, T. (2001).
