There were in-fight among the prophet followers comprising who will succeed the Muhammad role and lead the Muslims, how the person to succeed the prophet should be elected, the role of successor and the conditions of legitimacy. With the death of Prophet Muhammad in AD 632, disagreement broke out over his successor. Umar, a prominent companion of Prophet Muhamad nominated Abu Bakr, other followers added their support and Abu Bakar was made the first caliph. But this choice was disputed by many, other followers held that Ali, Muhammad cousin and son-in-law, had been designated his successor. Later, during the First Fitna and the Second Fitna the community divided into several sects and groups, each of which had its own idea about successorship. Finally, after the Rashidun caliphate turned into Monarchies and Sultanates, while in most of the areas during Muslim history Sunnis have held power and Shias have emerged as their opposition (Houtsma et al 1991). The last days of Prophet Mohamed It was two month after a farewell pilgrimage also referred to as Hajj. He fell ill at that time but even though, he was always leading the congregation through the prayers. One time after one of those prayers, he invoked special blessings to the martyrs and then addressed the Muslims. He stated that there is a slave among the slaves of Allah to whom the one God has offered choice between the World and that which is basically with him, the slave had chosen what was with God. At the time, his personal assistant, Abu Bakr when he came to the realization that he was addressing an issue about himself. The prophet continued with his speech though to address the people. He warned them to be good to the Anser who are the residents of Medina that were really helpful for the immigrants of Mecca. He as well warned the nations that worshipped the tombs of their Prophets, he defines defined his companion Abu Bakr and as an unselfish man. He sat on the right of Abu Bakr and completed the prayers while seated. He has been described as having the most beautiful faces at that time (Hazrat 2006). This duration has been largely been associated with apostacy, this has been defined as a primary religious movement, even though various scholars now arque out that it was more political, and some have no specific line of inclination and say that it was both. Medina has now become the centre I which the social and essentially political systems of which religion was the integral part of the system. In the last months of his rule, he had made campaigns against the Sassanid Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire, and this was the first motion towards his historical trajectory which was continued on by some other caliphs, Umar and Uthman which was just in few decades (Fred 2010). He rarely paid attention to the administration from his very busy schedule on the administration of the state. The state affairs however were very stable during his tenure of service. At one time he had been misadvised by his companions Umar and Abu, he accepted to give himself an a salary from the state treasury and abandon his cloth of trade. Later, he was succeeded and that was the most relevant time because his succession was threatening the unity and stability of the Muslim community. He has as well been recognized as the most virtues leader of the Muslims, he has been said to have been kind, and helpful. The Sunni regarded him as the Khalifa Rasulullah which is metaphorical for the successor of the messenger of Allah and one of the first well guided Caliphs. The empire of Abu Bakr Reflection on the sects in general (Sunni - Sheei ) Islam has a very good history founded in the seventh century, in 622, an Islamic state was found, and had its centre at Medina a city in the western Saudi Arabia which is north of Mecca. There are two branches of the religion that he founded. The Sunni branch which hold that the first four caliphs Leaders who were Muhammad’s successor righteously took over leadership as his successor. They recognize them as the legitimate leaders. This Sunni ruled continuously until there came up a breakup of the Ottoma Empire in the Arab world. This took place following the end f the first world wars (Juan 2009). Other Sects are the Shiites who in contract hold a very different believe that only the heir s of the fourth Caliph Ali are the only legitimate heirs of Muhammad. Another difference between the Shiites and Sunni concerns Mahdi which means the rightly guided one, who brough the right and just caliphate into being (Fred 2010). Conclusion.  The history of Muslim religion has had its own fair share o history endowed with divisions and other issues. Muhammad is the core centre of this faith and from the general perspective of the different groups of the Muslims holds it that the successors of Muhammad were the only right successors. Different succession story simply highlight the various sect group that belong to the Muslims communities. This has also been reflected in the contemporary groupings that exist even now. Also history indicates that as much as people recognized Abu Bakr, he was not loved by all. This has been pointed out to the sectarian and partisan considerations during those days of his leader ship even after being approved by Prophet Muhammad’s approval. Particularly, Ali had a problem with him basically which might have started from the day of the appointment of Abu Bakr. It has been said that this was there for some time and he did not bear allegiance to him for some time. Ali took the allegiance to Abu Bakr only after the death of Fatima. In my opinion, Religion is the epitome of the people faith and with this, people are brought together and they share their faiths which even become embodied in the social levels of the society.
