Message of Existentialism to the Church Existentialism refers to the fabric of life that is recognized by individuals in terms oftheir acting and thinking. This generally means that it is the analyses of life’s meaning for every human being1. This is because of its indirect style of teaching about Christ which is extremely an imperative aspect in the church. Additionally, existentialism is focused on individual’s human lives as well as the poignant inexorableness of choice and suffering for every individual. Presently, existentialism is being applied in the churches to deliver a message of hope and faith to the Christians. This paper will focus on the principal message of existentialism that the church needs, as well as, the strengths of people’s existential call to subjectivity. The church forms the moral backbone of the society and every member of the community is determined to a member. This is because of the fact that the church needs a message that will impact people in terms of life and choices they make. In this world of moral chaos, the most imperative thing is to comprehend the right and wrong. This is why the message that all churches need to hear revolves around faith and decision making2. The benefit of Existentialism in the church is that it assists in bring rationalists back in order to comprehend that Christianity is just more than philosophy. It is therefore imperative for people to live in a Christian faith way despite their historical correctness. The message of faith will therefore enable people to live with hope that there is another life that awaits them even after death. Faith is proof enough that God exists and that people should focus on experiencing the ultimate gift of live and that this is the best way to live and not merely embracing Christianity. The existence of every individual is a fact the church should consider. Human beings are interesting beings and this is a fact that should be considered when delivering the message of faith to the Christians. This is because people’s quest can lead them to have illusions from their beliefs. Faith is not an illusion and this is a factor that should be emphasized by the church since many people might base their decision making from a religious aspect3. Human being has the capability to create illusions from the abstracts of life and focus more on ethical aspects of life without necessarily considering religious aspects. People that have faith and believe have the ability to make good choices. The message of faith o the church enables people to differentiate between good and bad and still maintain choices in life. Te massage of faith is imperative because it is considered as the highest passion of the soul. Through faith, individuals are able to comprehend the essence of life. This shows that God has expectations that a human being should focus on. There are absolute demands that God has placed on individuals. The demand suspends the universal imperatives ethical aspects in human beings and that one should believe in him. This is an aspect which shows that the existentialism message that churches need should not only have a foundation in moral aspects but also enhance faith. People should embrace this message with subjective passion and obedient4. The church has assisted many people to reorganize their life as well as join the available religious system. This is due to the fact that the existentialism message gives insightful analyses of religious and ethical choices. Faith is the only thing that can make an individual to obey that God will deliver them form a particular predicament. This is depicted in Abraham’s case where he had been ordered to sacrifice his only son. Abraham did not question God but went forth to sacrifice his son. He is therefore, used as a mythological character to show a person with faith. This clearly shows that faith is higher than ethical stands. People should know that God’s revelations are not supposed to depict an upward ethical way but provide a way to follow which will certainly lead to a better life. As Christians, people always believe that there is a higher power and that is what is needed in the church. Individuals with faith will therefore be able to have a better overlook of things. This is because it will assist them in dealing with day today issues with more calm and believe that every people will be solved by application of their faith5. Therefore, the main existentialism message that the church needs is that faith is the reason people make the decisions they do. People should be aware of all off things that make it possible to have faith. For instance, the church needs to educate the members and make them aware that faith makes people achieve things that were unimaginable to them. By having faith, an individual, gets healed of any kind of ailment. It is extremely difficult to have this as the principal existentialism message because there are many people all over the world that are sick6. If they are made to understand that by having faith in God one will be healed, then they will have a better chance of believing in the message. Nobody is more favorable in God’s eyes and that is why it is said that it is only those that can believe in him will do great things in life. Therefore, faith is the determining factor of all aspects of life and achievement for those that believe. People should focus on trusting in God without question his power. However, it does not mean that people should be arrogant and act without thinking just because they have faith. Faith portrayed by Christians should be manifested in practical aspects of life. Despite the fact that Abraham was almost sacrificing his child because God requested him, he had established a rational foundation of trust between him and God. This is the reason why he was able to almost do the impossible. However, it does not mean that people should try to take part in dangerous ways of life just because they have faith; people should focus more on what faith can offer without necessarily including uncouth actions. Therefore, the ultimate solution is to realize that experience and reasoning from a very imperative part of faith. People should love their god with their entire mind, their heart and soul. This depicts the Christian way of way of life is more focused on an element of faith instead of rationalism. The existentialism message will therefore focus more on an individual’s being instead of rationalism. People should know that just like in human links, there should be a rational aspect through which knowledge and communication should be manifested between God and the people. People can only portray irrationalism in the church if the teachings given to them are focused towards destroying their existence instead of strengthening their faith7. The existentialism message needed in churches is supposed to call the masses back and have a more genuine mode of Christianity. This message is directly related to the message of faith and god’s love. For instance, when an individual engages in any act of love, one is effectively achieving an element of divine. This attributable to the fact that people are a necessary for both finite and infinite aspects of synthesis8. Therefore, if an individual does not fully believe in the existentialism message, one is prone to be despaired. In some cases, despair is viewed as sin because one chooses a path that is not purposed by God’s will. The existentialism message further entails systematic demolishment of all evil doings. Everybody should be evaluated in accordance to God’s divine scrutiny. People should be given a chance to express themselves in a manner that is purposeful and good. This is enhanced by faith since individuals believes will enhance their goodness and make choices that are imperative. An existential message to the church demands that all readers recognise their imperative existence as a subject studying words communicated to them directly. This means that an individual is supposed to follow the guidance of the church without being forced. Existentially, an individual’s life cannot be controlled by the bible unless they let it be9. This is an element of faith because the authority of an individual can only be altered if that individual permits it be in control over their life. Therefore, the existential message that churches need should give people the authority to make their own decisions. This should be in regard to their way of life and if they have to change their way of thinking and actions. A person is not obliged to follow guidance that he/she does not believe in. The strengths of people’s existential call to subjectivity are determined by the beliefs of human beings. To be human means to logically find one self. People usually hide from death and other terrible things that can happen by going to church. However, one cannot be healed without faith and that is one of the reasons that people have become strong and believe in subjectivity as Christians. Impossible aspects of life make it hard for individuals to hide from reality. This means that the messages given to the church should be uplifting in terms of faith and not focus on human anxiety. Therefore, it should create meaning and analyzed carefully the relationship between people and God. People that believe in existentialism message of faith and hope see the relationship between people and as the ground of all elements of life. This message should therefore have portrayed essential tension between human freedom and divine power. Once an individual has faith, one is free to manifest the divine power offered by believing in God10. In conclusion, existentialism message that is needed in the church should not only be to enlighten people in decision making but also in dealing with day today challenges. Therefore, the message of faith is the most appropriate since existentialism is more focused on people’s freedom and doing whatever they feel is right to them. People should therefore, continue believe n a more supreme power, even without seeing God. This kind of believing leads to better judgment of events and believe in a higher power. People should keep on seeking to experience Gods power by having faith. This is because, it only by believes that one can have faith and experience the power of God. The interpretation of God’s way of life in existential context presents an authority f an ideal norm for personal appropriation to which people are committed. Therefore, the existentialism message which churches need is that faith is the ultimate factor of existence but only in a rational way. Referencing list Allen, E. Existentialism from Within.
