Understanding the Significance of Women in Church Leadership - Literature review Example

This research project purposes to develop a resource that will empower women in the local church to know and understand their significance in the leadership roles of the church, and to possess their position as the new leaders in the Body of Christ. As such, this project will review the extent to which women in the local church will go in an effort to understanding their new roles in the church, as well as, practicing their found positions in the leadership of the church. Consequently, from this research project, women in the church will get a better understanding of their leadership roles in the church setting, as well as, gain a new insight into the understanding of their personal relationship, their relationship with God, and their relationship with other members of the church, especially fellow women.

this literature review chapter explores various significant literature related to the specific areas, as well as, address the facts that will lead the women in the new leadership positions in the church to the right direction, a direction that will assist them in shaping their roles and understanding their significance in the body of Christ. Many women today are experiencing the opportunity to be in leadership roles and to lead various ministries within the church. As women get calls from God to lead in various roles in ministry, many women are trying to understand their leadership role as it relates to their gifts, talents, and abilities.

Although many women are equipped with the many gifts, talents, and abilities, she is still being shaped that will ultimately make her unique to the leadership role she is being assigned to. However, there is still the question of her significance, as well as, why she is here?Rick Warren in his forward in S.H.A.P.E.: Finding & Fulfilling Your Unique Purpose for Life, by Erik Rees, states that “God has given every creature he made a special area of expertise to fulfill its purpose. For instance, some animals run, others hop, some swim, others burrow, and some fly.

Each has a particular role to play based on the way they were shaped by God” (2006, 7)
