Catholic Magisterial Teaching Catholic teachings are well known for addressing global issues including poverty, equity, business, and strengthening the human race. This paper briefly analyses some of the issues addressed by these teachings.1) How application of Catholic teaching on global issues from the Gaudium et Spes contributes to equitable distribution of wealth and access to employment From the Gaudium et Spes text, we learn that a man is guided by his or her conscience which is his most secret core and sanctuary.

Conscience enables man to develop laws that require his obedience, these are laws of loving what is good and detesting evil acts. These laws are what lead man to do good to other individual on earth, to love their neighbours as they love themselves and always to help those who are in need. Conscience guides man on what to do and what not to do and since it is the voice of God it will always lead us in doing what I righteous. God created all human beings in his own image, and He requires us to love him and also love our neighbours.

With love, we will think well of others, with love we cannot kill, steal, take bribes or favour individuals based on either their race, ethnic group or any other classification. Conscience brings together people from different parts of the world in the search of the truth hence strengthening their social relationships, and more so creates peace and coherence. It is through these interactions and conscience that people develops norms of morality that guide them no matter their geographical location and hence in the long run the whole world is united and guided by laws that uphold respect for others.

In conclusion, it is evident that these teachings from the Gaudium et Spes are critical if put into place. They will increase peace and love for others and remove selfishness and hence will lead to equitable distribution of wealth and access to employment as human beings see each other as being equal and important in the eyes of God (Paul VI Ch. 1).2) Should the church and other religious organizations continue to act as patron of the poor? Why or why not. The church and other Christian organization should continue to act as patrons to the poor.

According to the Gaudium et Spes Chapter 4 Section 42, it is the role of the church to create works like charity to benefit the poor people in the society. The aim of the church is to unite the human race, and this can only be achieved by addressing the particular needs of the people. The church also aims at doing what is useful to other people, and this creates an obligation of meeting the needs of the poor people in the society. The church emulates Christ and in bringing unity and strengthening of the human family and this can only be achieved by meeting the needs of the members.

The church believes that the social union arises from the union of minds and hearts and is based on faith and charity and hence charity work is a major pillar of strengthening unity in the human race. The church, therefore, has a role in catering for the needs of all the people in the world especially the poor since this will enhance unity and also strengthen Christianity (Paul VI Ch 4).3) A passage on Pertaining business ethics and practices and why it might contribute to good business practices.

"While it is true that man eats the bread produced by the work of his hands, and this means not only the daily bread by which his body keeps alive, but also the bread of science and progress, civilization and culture - it is also a perennial truth that he eats this bread by "the sweat of his face," that is to say, not only by personal effort and toil, but also in the midst of many tensions, conflicts and crises, which, in relationship with the reality of work, disturb the life of individual societies and also of all humanity" (Paul J. par 3). From this passage derived from John Paul IIs letter, it is evident that a man has to work in order to eat and also contribute to the development.

He emphasizes on the important of hard work by saying that man has to sweat of his face, and this is important for business people. They learn that for them to progress in their businesses they have to work extra harder. In their operations, they are also prone to meet various challenges including tensions, crises and conflicts. What will determine their success is how they face this challenges and how well they interact with the society and humanity at large. I, therefore, conclude that this passage creates a business ethics where businessmen are called upon to work hard in their operations and grow their relationship with the society members who are also their customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

In conclusion, it is evident that if catholic teaching were put in place the world would not only be a peaceful place to leave in but the interests of the needy would be met.
