Matthew writes about Jesus in a king that had been spoke n about even by prophets of the Old Testament. He would rule all over Israel and Jesus was a divine king sent to oversee the people of God. Matthew 2: 5, 6 confirms that it was prophesied that a governor shall come to rule all over Israel. This verse serves to strengthen the assertion that above all, Jesus is King. Matthew also introduces Jesus like the new Moses. According to Him, They had almost similar reasons for coming (Matthew 1: 1 -4:11). Just like the case of Moses where the Kind attempted to kill him as a child, Jesus also went through the same. They both had a stint in Egypt and had to flee their lands and return after the demise of the tyrants they left behind. Just like Moses led the people of Israel, Matthew wants to create a portrait that assumes the same trend. All along, it was predestined that the course of Jesus would be to set up groundwork for people to partake the kingdom of God and eventually die on the cross. This part emphasizes that Jesus had qualities of a servant. He was present so that others could benefit. Mark Asserts that Jesus gave his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45) Jesus according to Luke Luke portrays Jesus as the savior of the world. He is the one sent by God to come and fulfill his promises to his people (Luke 19:10). This verse says that the son of man has come to save the lost. Therefore, Jesus purpose is to help the people on earth by caring for the sick, the poor the marginalized, the oppressed and those that lack hope. According to Luke, Jesus is a compassionate figure. The gospel that Jesus preached was for all especially those that the society viewed as valueless such as women. This implies that Luke saw Jesus as a savior for all. Much of the account of Jesus according to Luke depicts him as a man with humanly qualities. Luke’s portrait of Jesus, unlike the others dwells on the human perspective of Jesus like a normal man. That is why he is concerned and compassionate about others. The “son of man” phrase in Luke 19:10 serves to give Jesus the qualities of a human. Additionally, in tracing the roots of Jesus, Luke does not do it like Matthew. Instead, he refers to Adam and eve as the parents of the whole generations. In the gospel of Luke, there is special emphasis on the Holy Spirit and prayer in relation to Jesus. He asserts that Jesus was instrumental in preaching the role of Holy Spirit and power of prayer in the lives of people. It was the Holy Spirit that was instrumental in the ministry of Jesus. Through parables that Jesus gave, Luke portrays Jesus as a person who was dedicated to the plight of the people. The parables emerge in The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37), The Rich Fool (12:13–21), The Prodigal Son (15:11–32), The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31), The Persistent Widow (Luke 18:1–8), and The Pharisee and the Tax Collector (Luke 18:9–14). This verse illuminates the importance of Jesus to man and how he is dependable forever. Jesus according to Paul Thessalonians Paul’s account of Jesus emanates from different epistles that he wrote. In Thessalonians, Jesus is depicted by Paul as one who will face suffering for the sake of mankind. In his course, Christ must face many sufferings and die for the sake of man’s redemption. Therefore, his death would be symbolic of the commitment and love he has towards mankind. He will come again to deliver those who live righteously as he demanded (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 New International version). Jesus also required people to love others genuinely. 1st Corinthians He is the manifestation of the wisdom of God and the people should live in cohesion and view itself as the body of Christ. Paul also describes Jesus in Corinthians the undivided one, the cornerstone of human faith and one who is true to his word to his followers (1st Corinthians 1:13). This verse emphasizes that Jesus does not change and is truthful. Also, Paul says in (1st Corinthians 8:6) that all thing and including humans exist through Jesus Christ. Paul asserts that it is by Jesus that God created all things that are on earth. Therefore, our existence has a direct bearing to Jesus. He sustains the human life and acts a link between the human kind and God. Romans According to Paul in Romans, Jesus rewards those who trust in him and follows his teachings. He does this by prepares a dwelling in heaven for people who are true to his calling. Jesus lives in people (church) if they stick to his teachings and avoid sin as best as they can. According to Paul in Romans, Jesus is the end of the law for the righteous to everyone who believes in him and his word (Romans 10:4 New International Version).
