The Book of Thessalonians can be found in the New Testament of the bible. The book was written by the apostle Paul around 51 A.D. The theme of the book 1 Thessalonians is to encourage the Thessalonians to stay on the right track and to encourage them to live a spiritual life.
Book 1 Thessalonians relates to modern day life in so many ways. This is true for 1 Thessalonians as it is many other areas located in the bible. In the beginning of the book the Thessalonians are thankful for the word of God. This is important since the word of God has dramatically changed the Thessalonians life. This directly relates to modern day life in a sense that it is important to continue to thank God for his word even after thousands of years.
Chapter four in 1 Thessalonians goes on to further explain living to please God. This is very important and the apostle Paul urges the Thessalonians to stand strong in their faith. Paul urges the Thessalonians to continue to do more in more in the name of God’s son Jesus. Doing so is pleasing to God. Chapter four also brings up sexual morality. This was a trouble for the Thessalonians as it is trouble for modern day. Sexual morality has become to be something that is tolerated by society but almost forgot that it is not tolerated by God. God wants his people to respect their bodies and treat them holy. If these same values could be implemented into modern day world there would be less sexual acts before marriage and also less prostitution.

Loving each other is another way that 1 Thessalonians encourages everyone to live to please God. Loving each other is very important as loving each other as God had intended would allow for a better more pure way of life. This pertains to the modern world in ways that loving each other would reduce crime, lying, deceit, divorce, and violence to almost none.
Chapter five goes on to explain waiting for the coming of Gods son Jesus. It is said that Jesus will come without warning like a thief in the night. Those who are obedient to him shall receive salvation. Modern day may tend to forget that this has been written by God. Those who are pleasing to God and live life as a follower of Jesus are able to seek this salvation. It is important to remember that God says that we are all people of the day. Becoming people of the day helps to keep away wrong doings and drunkenness. God wants his people to be awake in the day and sleep at night. Those sleeping in the day are getting drunk at night and not living out God’s will. Modern day struggles with this in many different ways. Many bars, clubs and casinos are open 24 hours and this keeps many awake at night when many should be asleep. Becoming awake and aware of all these things leads to drunkenness which leads to many other poor decisions. Remembering what God has written through Paul to the Thessalonians would change the way many live for the better.
1 Thessalonians is summed up by final instructions. The final instructions were written to encourage the Thessalonians to continue to work hard and respect those who work hard. This is important for modern day as respect is such an issue that many face.
Jealousy and anger prevent many from respecting one another. Final instructions also encouraged the Thessalonians to be joyful. Being joyful and praying to God is important to help lift one another’s spirits. In a modern world were depression is such a huge problem, it is important for modern day to remember that the Lord wants us to be joyful and happy. Read More

1-5 Myths of Capitalism

... Myths of Capitalism Personal Post The speaker, Jeff Miron, has an interesting take on capitalism and common myths that are associated with capitalism. The first myth is eye opening as most people generally believe that capitalism is bets for businesses. This is actually false as businesses tend towards monopolies as opposed to competition so as to ensure increased profit margins (Liberty Learning). As a result, businesses are always looking to regulate their respective industries by encouraging laws and policies to govern certain aspects of the industries. The second myth is also one that is widely held. Capitalism seeks to reward effort and productivity, and as such is a fair type of market. However, capitalism allows... Myths of Capitalism ...

Ephesians 5:1-7

.... That is why the very first words read: “Follow God’s example”, suggesting that the moral rules that are being advocated by Christianity are not some kind of abstract values, but actions which were performed by Jesus Christ when He was living in human flesh (Ephesians 5:1). Then the apostle suggests that the need to follow the established moral rules and regulations is grounded not up fear, but on a different principle: the believers are called “dearly loved children” (Ephesians 5:1). In other words, this reflects the peculiarity of the relationship between Christians and their God Who loves them, not forcing the former to obey. It must be noted that the significance of love as the fundamental principles of connection between God...
