Analysis of Seventh-day Adventists’ Website The purpose of Seventh-day Adventists’ website is to share Jesus Christ by reaching out to as many individuals as possible, including current members, through preaching, Bible studies, congregations and media attention. It provides information about the religion, its beliefs and findings. From these, it hopes to convert freethinkers into becoming Christians. On the other hand, Jehovah's Witnesses’ website is dedicated to providing topics about current affairs and healthy living, offering possible explanations to how and why such events occur based on the Bible. In addition, both websites offer information on the types of assistance that are offered, such as health care and provide publications. I learned that Seventh-day Adventists has global influences with churches, educational programs, health ministries and publications all over the world. The Seventh-day Adventists is a renowned organization, which has set up Bible study groups all over the world known as Sabbath School. It also develops its own materials for use. It has several departments to provide support to the organization, including auditing that ensure financial statements are true and fair and policies compliance are met. As for Jehovah's Witnesses, it also has similar global influences with its members increasing tremendously over the years as more people convert to the religion and become baptized. Even the website is available in hundreds of different languages to cater for different nationalities that share the same belief. Its Bible study can be arranged and conducted at the convenience of your own home. It has branches in several countries that manage resources, memorials, baptism and congregations. I also learned that the topics provided allows one to relate the day-to-day affairs to the teachings of the Bible and by doing so, one can have more spiritual growth. This is especially so for those that are particularly at the lowest points in their lives, in times of crisis, when death occurs to someone dear to them, and even the approach of our own death. As Seventh-day Adventists operates educational facilities in many countries, they believe that church-run schools are equally capable of providing the necessary curriculum. It is said that many parents see a favorable change in their children upon joining such institutions and the group hopes to create more impact on society. On a separate note, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that current events; for instance, the worsening crimes and even global warming that instil fear in many about safety and the future, are caused by the imperfections of human beings and how governments, by implementing legislations, believe they can address these imperfections and thus, make the world a better place to live in. On the other hand, these laws come without love or guarantee that one will be law-abiding. As such, problems in the world persist. But verses in the Bible explain these issues are not forever because there will come a time when the world will suffer greatly from food shortages, earthquakes and whatnots, all at the same time, to aim at those who oppose God to pave way for a government called “the Kingdom of God”. The Seventh-day Adventists offer services on education, health, Bible Studies, humanitarian aid and volunteer services. Humanitarian aid revolves around individual and community development and disaster relief, while voluntary services include orphanage works and fund-raising events. These can be for short-term or long-term, which can be applied for online. Educational programs range from Primary to Tertiary education. Several mediums such as television and radio that the group has set up make the spreading of the gospel much easier and more effective, reaching to millions of people worldwide. Jehovah's Witnesses offer numerous topics on the Bible, magazines, books as well as American and Brazilian Sign Language recordings that are available for download online. These are not limited to the English language, but are available in hundreds of different languages. The mission of Seventh-day Adventists is to spread the gospel throughout the world so that others accept Jesus to be their personal savior and to provide support for His return. This is done through preaching, teaching and healing ministries. This is because Jesus told his followers to make disciples of everyone and Paul the Apostle did the same so the group follow their example. The group believes in the return of Jesus. In addition, the group believes that the religion revolves around spiritual and physical health. Jehovah's Witnesses’ mission is not clear but its beliefs and purpose are. It aims to explain the reasons why certain events occur in our lives or the world and looks at them with great hope. The Seventh-day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses are conservative religious groups in that their beliefs are strictly from the teachings of the Bible. The groups do not accept acts hated by God, such as homosexuality, abortion or pre-marital sex. They urge common people to actively pursue blessing through everyday discipline. The groups expect their members to spend considerable amounts of time in church activities and carrying the organization’s mission. Many are encouraged to share their faith with strangers and involve them in their activities so as to have influence in their lives. Recently, a Seventh-day Adventists member expressed his disappointment in how political differences affected the peace and living conditions in Kenya, in a report and called for local and international assistance to provide financial and health aids. Jehovah's Witnesses’ current posts on political topics in the website are about the changes that the group hopes to be legislated but are yet unsuccessful. For instance, in Austria, the government has rejected, for the fourth time, to recognise the group as a religious society despite favorable decisions by the European Court of Human Rights. *** End *** References: 1. http://www.adventist.org/ Seventh-day Adventists. 2. http://www.watchtower.org/ Jehovah's Witnesses.
