The word perseverance is strong and carries various meanings. When one learns to control this world, they are open to receiving success in their lives. However, it takes more than just a lot of discipline and hardwork to achieve this. People often relate the meaning of the word with just going through extreme lengths even when odds are stacked against you. Despite being correct to some extent, I tend to relate the work to some of the great leaders ever to live. One of these leaders is Dr. Martin Luther Jr. King, who hails as a great Civil Rights leader in America.

Throughout his life, he faced many obstacles from hate, cruelty, and spitefulness from people. However, he did not just give in to all the negativity around him. He kept going on even when the hate was too much to bear for an ordinary man. It got to the point where his name was being tarnished and even had his house burnt. However, all this did not stop him from going to the streets. All that is too much for just any person to handle and still stand strong.

Why did he just have to keep going through all these? The answer is quite simple. He had a strong sense of faith and belief in what he was doing. He knew that what he was fighting for was much more than the hatred he received. He knew to fight for the dream meant a better world with all the races. Even after his death, his accomplishment is applauded to date as a great leader. His actions are enough proof of the perseverance he went through.

No situation should humble you to the point of giving in. Sometimes it might seem too much, but you can always keep a distance. Perseverance is an attractive quality to keep in a person. In the face of difficulties and challenges, you have to be persistent. The taste of failure comes in when you stop on your tracks or moving on becomes hard. Life is not about giving up each time you face a challenge that seems hard to handle. In case you want to succeed in something, you have to stick by it and try hard. In the path to achieving your dreams or goals, you are bound to run into stumbling blocks along the way. A great way of persevering is ensuring that you are not distracted. You have to learn to let go of everything that is holding you back. Reaching your dreams calls for a person to have hope, consistency, and hardwork. Learn how to take care of yourself in the process. In case you need help, do not be reluctant to ask for help. Someone elsewhere might have the same question but still scared to ask.

Apart from just being persevering, you also need to be self-confident and optimistic that you will accomplish your goals and dreams. Apart from just leading to the survival of a person, it also leads to a successful future. Having that burning sensation to achieve something in life will just keep you up motivated to achieving all your goals and dreams. Our path to our dreams is filled with trials and tribulations, which might just elongate our taste of success. Perseverance on our backs helps us in conquering all the challenges that come with the journey we take part in. There are times where I have class assignments to turn in with little time left. I either have to choose to work within a short time or not hand in the paper at all. My life was unorganized. I was afraid to ask any question where I lacked the understanding to prevent being made fun of. However, I knew that I could achieve much more by taking chances. Ask when in need. Each passing day build my schoolwork load to the point where I knew it would be impossible to achieve all. I could not ask for help from anywhere else.

On one event, I came from school and to ease my mind. I decided to watch a movie. Finding Nemo was on when I logged into my Netflix account. As a child, this was one of my favorite shows to watch. While watching the movie, I heard the voice of the main character Dorothy, played by Helen DeGeneres, shout to keep on swimming. At the precise moment, my life was changed at that moment. The reference in the movie made it clear that I need to keep on moving on despite the obstacles I was facing. Even when you feel like there is no point going on, you should continue. Many obstacles keep coming my way. I also believe that with each step I make, the move will become harder. However, I have full confidence that I will manage to handle it. There does not exist any obstacle that is too big for me to handle it. When you feel that something is too overbearing to handle, you should always ask for guidance and help. There is always somebody willing to lend a helping hand.

A key success in life is staying positive even when going through negativity. Patience is another great ingredient in the path to success. A way to think positively is by understanding that things take time, and nothing comes overnight. Take, for instance, in case you are having a bad day at work where everybody is not cooperating. You can either choose to linger in the negativity or choose to be the light at work. You can turn the tide at work by ensuring everyone is cooperating and working together. If it was not for perseverance, the world is not going to be here today since the world leaders could have failed a long time ago. The same applies to international corporations that were facing bankruptcy. But perseverance saw the firms overcome their struggles.

In case you cannot practice perseverance in your life, the chances are that you will end up with a dissatisfactory job or going through a bad situation. Most people await outers to perform their job for them. Most also rely on laws, government, and donations to get by. However, they never put in the work that comes with the job. A persevering person can withstand all the challenges they face in their life. Such people can survive in any environment in which they find themselves. Perseverance refers to the determination of a person with regards to not letting any obstacle in life stop them from achieving their goals. It is hard to make it in this cruel world without having a sense of perseverance. It makes a person more responsible with a high sense of ethics.

Even when a person is just highly intelligent but lacks adaptation to nature, it becomes harder for them to prosper. They lack a sense of direction in their lives and are guided by just their brain. All of the great things in life are a product of perseverance. It plays a great role in the life of a person. The root of success in all the technical fields just needs perseverance with the results.

You should develop the art at an early stage so that it can grow into the person you are as an adult. The perseverance essay shows that the journey to success is filled with obstacles. Therefore it needs a person with character to push through.
