Reaction paper 9 Reaction paper 9 The three aspects of emotion According to Halberstadt, Denham & Densmore (2001), emotions involve experiencing the emotions evoked, sending different messages resulting from the emotions in question and lastly, receiving messages from other people based on the emotions in context. It is evident that these three aspects of emotion actually affect each other and even work in tandem. Through experiencing emotions, one is able to identify their own feelings and even regulate the events that are triggering the emotions (Halberstadt, Denham & Densmore, 2001).

Secondly, sending the emotions involves expressing the emotion in a manner that is in line with the situation at hand and lastly, receiving information is characterized by comprehending other peoples’ emotional expressions (Halberstadt, Denham & Densmore, 2001). My view of these facts and my own capacities have transformed completely after taking this class since I now believe that the three aspects of emotion work together. Just like a wheel spins, I now learn that emotions are created by a series of events, and that the cycle is continuous.

This explains why an individual’s emotions may be completely different from the emotions that are perceived by different people. Just as Halberstadt, Denham & Densmore (2001) write, it is vital that one understands their culture and even the world around them, so as they can have the opportunity to control the manner in which they rely different forms of emotions. I am also convinced that emotions involve a process of sending and receiving different forms of messages depending on the context.
