Meditation and Generalized Anxiety Disorder affiliation Data Collection Method 2 pages) For this research study the aspect of data collection is very paramount because in any case of inaccurate data collection, this will cause great impact on the overall study leading to automatic invalid result. Therefore, Focus groups shall be used to obtain the qualitative data that is required where by sessions of the focus groups who will be GAD patients recorded, only the investigator shall be permitted access to any type or form of identifying data. The Questionnaires shall also be used to collect data on suggestions and on features that would make for an effective framework. Additionally, other quantitative data such as the frequency of problems associated with GAD shall be obtained. Quantitative: Quantifiable data involving statistical and numerical information will also be used Design and Procedure Phase 1 Procedure (Quantitative Research Method). Starting from this stage, the study will begin with the random sampling as well as structured data collection techniques; this method shall be of great importance because it fits variety of experiences into prearranged response categories. The method produces results which are easy to be summarized well, generalized and simples to compare, here the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) hypotheses will be tested as it is derived from the theory or being in a position to estimate the potential size of a particular phenomenon of interest. According to the question selected, participants are likely to be assigned randomly to different treatments.. but incase this comes out to be feasible then the we shall have the responsibility of collecting data on participants as well as situational characteristics for the benefit of controlling statistics influence of the dependent or variables and outcome. But if the intention is to generalize all research participants as in a large population, then probability of already used sampling may be important since participants are selected. Here are some of the quantitative data strategies that are going to be used: Practical Experiments or clinical trials. Through Observing and recording all well-defined events (for instance, the type of meditation technique employed, time and outcome). Obtaining relevant data on Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Administering surveys by used of closed-ended questions (for example, face-to face or through telephone interviews, questionnaires). Interviews will follow in quantitative research method which looks to be more structured, the some standardized set of questions will be asked direct to Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) patients and nothing more. Other techniques that will be in use include telephone interviews which is simple to employ and less time consuming, Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) which involve entry of data direct to the system by the use of laptop or computer or related gadget that makes it easy to process the data since is stored in the database, Paper-pencil-questionnaires as well as Web based questionnaires will on board too. Phase 2 Procedure (Qualitative Research Method). This is very critical stage for this study because of the role it plays in impacting the evaluation through provision of useful information that enable proper understanding of the whole process within the observed results as well as assessing the changes that occurs in individuals perceptions especially their well-being. Therefore, qualitative methods will be majorly used in order to improve on the quality of survey-based research and quantitative evaluations through generating evaluation hypothesis as well as strengthening the available design of survey-questionnaires through expanding and expounding quantitative evaluation findings. For instance, GAD’s victim life is plagued by a constant state of worry, fear and dread. The worry produced by the anxiety disorder dominates one’s thinking. This leads to the interference with daily functioning, including work, school, social activities and relationships. The research will look at the facts and evaluate the findings. However regardless of whatever data involved, the collection of data in methods takes some good time, therefore the research will have to record any potential data properly, systematically and accurately using the notes from the field, audiotapes, photographs and sketches done to make sure that nothing is not left out. Ethical Considerations The ethical consideration in this study shall be considered keenly since it is mandatory, all the ethical principles associated will be put into consideration, this principle includes the following: we shall always be good and avoid harm to all the participants as well as obtaining required form of consent first especially from the potential or intended research participants, this will help in minimizing any possible risk or harm to participants, participant identity will be concealed at all time as well as keeping off from deceptive practices, participant will be allowed to have the right at any given time to withdraw without any strings attached from the research as they feel. Data Analysis This is termed to be a procedure where data is processed, statistically inspected, cleaning, modeling and transforming with the aim of discovering any useful information which will suggest conclusions in order to support decision making for the subject matter. Therefore, thematic analysis shall be used to analyze qualitative data. Descriptive statistical tools such as mean, median shall be used to analyze quantitative data. Regression or correlation analysis: the method shall be of the essence in understanding of the relationship between the various Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) variables. Additionally, level of statistical shall be determined to minimize the possibility that the strength of association is not due to chance. The intended research shall involve multiple related variables that revolve around Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Expected Results This study aim at coming out with the best medication for the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) among the available used treatment, new or combination of the meditation techniques in place as the best strategy Suggested Future Research In the future research needs to focus more on the origin of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) right way from the infancy stage and come up with the ways on how to avoid the development of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in the life of the victim’s later. Psychodynamic theory attributed to Sigmund Freud explains that anxiety originates from infancy. Freud explains that these anxieties manifest as a result of unresolved conflicts during childhood (Bourne, 2011). Childhood abuse as rape manifest later in an individual’s life leading to anxiety disorders. Suggested Future Application More research need to be carried out, physical meditation techniques like Tai Chi, mindfulness technique, compassion method to concentration meditation clearly stipulates the steps to be taken by victims of GAD and can be applied too. Conclusion Therefore, the study conclusions will be based on the proper out come from the both qualitative and quantitative methods as well as good data analysis. Since mediation covers diverse techniques ranging from spiritual meditation to secular mediation. Mediation also plays a crucial role in managing Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Different mediation strategies like the mindfulness technique, compassion method to concentration meditation clearly stipulates the steps to be taken by victims of GAD. However, this study focuses on the treatment of General Anxiety Disorder. Reference Bourne, E. J. (2011). The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook. Oakland: New Harbinger Publications. Read More
