Analysis of Variance of One-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA One-way anova and two-way anova will be looked at through the study of ways in which fertilizers contribute to the yield of maize. When fertilizer is applies, each having different quality, on different plots of land and each having maize seedlings. The yield from every plot is analyzed and recorded then the differences in the yields obtained from every plot analyzed. In this study, the different quantities obtained from every plot are called levels while the fertilizer is called a factor.

This type of analysis describes one way and two-way anova since it is based on one factor, fertilizer. The study can also be conducted to identify the fertility effects on the various types of plots. In such a study, there exists two factors thus, the fertility and the fertilizer. This type of analysis illustrates two-factor ANOVA or the two-way ANOVA (Choi, 2000). The differences in yields from the different plots may be attributed by other different factors, which may be beyond the control of human beings.

These factors are referred to as error and the variations in yields are attributed to error. In addition, the variation estimates contributed by the assignable causes and chance causes are calculated separately and the analysis compared by the use of t-test and the conclusion is done by use of t-values.In conclusion, in the study of ANOVA, four assumptions are made thus, there is zero expectation of the zero error, all the errors of the variance are equal, and experimental errors are independent to each other, and the samples are normally distributed (Choi, 2000).
