Identifying party interests Identifying party interests An organizational conflict is a brought about by people having different interests when working together. One type of organizational conflict that may occur is during business negotiations. When a given client negotiates with a given vendor company for some products or services, there is likely to occur some conflict. Though the two companies may have conducted business at some point in time, their objectives may come to coincide thus resulting into conflicts.

The vendor company is willing to secure the contract but at the same time maximize on its profits while ensuring that it secures such businesses in future. The purchasing company also wants the lowest possible prices while maintaining the required freedom to make such purchases in the future (Rahim, 2011). Thus, the two companies may come to conflict resulting into levels of disagreements which if note resolved could be costly for both companies. It is important for both companies to reach a consensus and agree on the way forward to benefit both of them.

The exhibited relationship is the give and take one where either company has to play its part to ensure that the conflict is resolved. The vendor company has to ensure that it settles on the best affordable prices since it is in need of securing such contracts in future. The purchasing organization has to ensure that the proposed price it offers is not too low to ensure that the vendor company achieves the required profits. Very low prices could result into the vendor company realizing losses at the end.
