Cocaine users enjoy social interactions less Introduction Cocaine is the second most frequently used drug in Europe as well as other parts of world. Regular usage of cocaine reduces the feeling of empathy in people. As per a research in the Psychiatric Hospital of Zurich, cocaine users have lack of social contacts because they find social connections less rewarding for them. Cocaine has a high and immediate impact in the brain and nervous system of people. Cocaine attacks the brain cells and results in abnormal flow of blood in the brain. The abnormal flow of blood results in creation of imagination and hallucination, which does not allow a person to act normally. Consumption of cocaine directly affects the brains functional system leading to loss of consciousness even at worse circumstances. The lack of social contact in cocaine users results in more consumption by them. Consumption of huge amount of cocaine also results in lack of concentration. Lack of concentration can affect the life of a person in several ways; First of all a person can become ignorant towards his job. Secondly, a person can start ignoring people and his problems, which can be disastrous for him in future. Analysis Cocaine is an illegal and addictive stimulant that is obtained from the leaves of Erythroxylon cocoa plant. This plant is mostly found in South America. According to a report obtained in 2008, from National Survey on Drug Use and Health, around 1.9 million people use cocaine for consumption directly (Morgan, 2002). Apart from United States of America there are several other countries, which face the same problem related to cocaine and other drugs. It has been observed that frequent consumption of cocaine reduces that feeling of empathy for others in people resulting to the formation of an unsocial society. The main reasons behind cocaine users lacking social interest are attention deficits, poor memory and lack of concentration. Most of the cocaine users suffer from memory loss due to which they find it difficult to recollect instances while they were high. Most of the cocaine users belong to age group 17-26 (Link, 1999). This shows that people from a very low age turn towards drugs and suffer from physical and mental complexities. According to a recent investigation, it was recorded that cocaine users have many complexities compared to normal people (Kaplan, 2010). The interpersonal and social skills lack in them not only for one specific reason however it has many impacts in the human body. First of all researchers have conducted series of experiments, taken survey reports and analyzed the reports thoroughly. Secondly, they compared the reports with non-cocaine users which helped them prepare a final report. According to the survey cocaine users find it difficult to understand mental state and responses of other people because their brain does not respond appropriately (Hall, 1991). Cocaine users have also been observed to have less emotional empathy while conversing with other people. The main reason behind this is that addicted people lose the power to detect emotion from voice of others. The addicted people have also been seen having lesser conversation during social interactions (Spreen, 1995). Cocaine has become one of the most important threats in front of the world because terrorists regulate their economy by selling these drugs at a high rate in the market. Consumption of cocaine makes people idle and finally they start losing their social contact. The brain activities can ever become worse if cocaine users are exposed to mental stress. The neurotransmission systems of human beings are complex and once it is altered it becomes very difficult for doctors to treat people. Frequent use of cocaine leads to several interruption in the working of mind and body of people. Moreover, the effects of cocaine are very severe for nerves and heart. Frequent consumption of cocaine leads to partial hallucination, which is enjoyed by users. After few intakes a person becomes addicted to the stimulant. The addiction power of cocaine is very high; it is even greater than marijuana. Marijuana is the most commonly used drug in the world however cocaine holds the second position. Cocaine has more adverse effects than marijuana and it is have more addiction power. After consumption of cocaine people generally have a tendency to sit quietly and behave irrationally. People generally enjoy their time after getting high. The social interaction reduces because people find it less useful. They do-not want to turn up to other people due to several reasons. The primary reason is that cocaine users become too lazy to talk after getting high. The second reason is that cocaine users do-not want to show their state of mind to other people. The third and most important reason is that the brain cells do-not allow an addicted person to interact properly with others. After the consumption of cocaine a person is not able to send proper signal to his mind through his ears or eyes. The signals reach to the brain slowly and this leads to lack of generation of electric signals required to respond through action. These factors have tremendous effects in the life of people. The social life of addicted people becomes very bad. Consumption of cocaine frequently can lead to disastrous effects. Cocaine travels through the nervous system and slowly blocks the signal generating cells of the brain. People who consume cocaine do-not have the tendency to interact with other people. Many researchers have experimented on the people addicted to cocaine and as per their analysis cocaine usage is harmful for the mind and body. Moreover, cocaine does not let a person to interact with another person, which creates a communication gap. Cocaine has some medical importance so it can-not be banned completely however its price can be raised in order to make it out of reach for common people. Finally it can be concluded that cocaine is a dangerous drug and regular consumption of this drug reduces social interaction of users. Hence appropriate remedies should be incorporated by legal bodies to reduce the flow of cocaine. Recommendation Cocaine and other drugs possess great threat to the modern world. There are many ill-effects of drugs in the society. Government and legislative bodies should implement possible steps instantly in order to reduce the flow of drugs in the market. One of the most important remedy to reduce cocaine is to increase the price of cocaine in the market and reduce the buying power of people. Implementing this remedy will definitely reduce the flow of cocaine and addicted people would not have much choice instead of quitting cocaine. Secondly Government should participate actively and punish people who are involved in the buying and selling of deadly drugs like cocaine. It is true that government of many countries have illegalized cocaine however its supply is there in the world. Government should take strict measures in order to reduce the flow of cocaine in the world. Government should also impose huge fine on people who are caught with cocaine. One of the most important concerns is children. Cocaine and similar drugs should not be in the reach of children or teenagers. Moreover, the advertisements of cigarette and alcohol increase the interest of children towards drugs along with cigarettes. Such advertisements should not be allowed publically in the society. Proper drug treatment should be implemented in order to help people from the adverse effects of drugs. One of the most important solutions to reduce the effect of cocaine is to treat people in mental health hospitals and rehab centres. Most of the people who are addicted to cocaine are taken to correction centres but it is not useful. In order to reduce the effects of cocaine and help people recover they should be taken to proper rehab centres and treated properly in order to reduce the effect of cocaine and similar drugs in the society.
