Assimilation commonly involves the utilization of existing knowledge in solving problems associated with a new situation. Accommodation, on the other hand, can be described as an adaptive approach in which learning occurs based on the situation or object presented(Wadsworth, 1995). This type of learning occurs when the existing knowledge completely fails to aid in understanding any elements present within a situation. In learning new information through reading the material contained within this document, a combination of the above-described methods was essential in understanding and comprehending the contained information. Processing this information involved a combination of these approaches in seeking to gain a fundamental understanding of the information.

Intelligence is an element of human conception that aids individuals in dealing with complex situations. The decision-making process among humans depends heavily on the intelligence of the person. A consideration of intelligence and its relationship with culture indicates that intelligence is significantly influenced by culture.  While genetic factors appear to have a significant effect on the intelligence exhibited by humans, much of the intelligence results from environmental factors that influence the cultural behavior of individuals (Matsumoto & Juang, 2012). These two elements have different roles in the development of intelligence among humans. Environmental conditions like socio-cultural factors have a significant impact on the development of human intelligence. Family, education, and environmental interventions are some of the factors that have positive effects on the development of human intelligence. The lack of these factors is associated with the hindrance of intelligence development.
