Diagnosing Disruptive Behavior Disorders affiliation Diagnosing Disruptive Behavior Disorders A child who is not doing his or her schoolwork may arguably be described to have an attention disorder as opposed to a defiant disorder. As seen in the research conducted by Butcher, Hooley & Mineka (2014), attention disorders entail a child not being in a position to stay focused in activities they ought to do and at times they also cannot control certain behaviors and may be hyperactive. In an event that a child cannot complete their school work, it is wrong to indicate that this child is defiant as they may simply have attention disorders.

Such a child simply goes through a childhood problem that causes them to have attention deficits. If the child is not doing their school work, the attention deficit interferes with their ability to accomplish tasks and homework completion is among the tasks. Evidently, as Butcher, Hooley & Mineka’s (2014) work would be interpreted this is a condition or rather a disorder that may even be treated using medications. In the event that treatment is not done appropriately, the child may be deviant, and ultimately be termed as deviant.

Evidently, the hyperactivity problem is linked with the inability to accomplish tasks effectively and at most times display social issues. Positive reinforcement as Butcher, Hooley & Mineka (2014) argue would prove useful to deal with such a disorder as opposed to constant punishment.
