Intelligence is a Product of Nature and Nurture Look at child who is just beginning to explore the world around him. Watch his eyes widen in amazement at the first touch of a cotton ball, see his face scrunch up at the first taste of a grapefruit, watch him lick an ice-cream with gusto. All of his senses are at work during these events. Although he cannot express himself properly yet, he is already learning the most basic rudiments of life for it is in his nature to learn from experiences that he encounters throughout his life.

These childhood experiences serve as the foundation for the learning that he will have later on. By naturally learning about all things in his life, he will later on exhibit an interest in specific topics, subjects, or undertaking such as carpentry, cooking, baking, repairs, etc. All of which parents can see as a developing interest in a child. It then becomes the job of the parents to nurture this interest in order for the child to gain a more solid learning experience. Both scenarios thus prove that the intelligence of a child is both a product of nature and nurture.

Nature teaches a child through his interest in all things around him. The natural intelligence is the product of his being observant and inquisitive which, to a child, is the most natural thing in the world. While nurturing the childs intelligence helps him to gain further insight, understanding, and knowledge about things that interest him the most. This is a selective type of intelligence that relies upon the support of his parents and educators to flourish.
