The Monkey Business IllusionThis illusion asks you to focus on a certain event of game while the things are changing in the background. It is your examination to stay part of the game while keeping your eyes open to the changes happening in the game. In the current game, there are 3 white and 3 black players passing a ball among them. The game demands the viewer to count the number of passes by white players. The total number of passes can be found by concentrating hard on the ball kept by white players.

Meanwhile, a Gorilla appears in the game that will be missed by many people if they are concentrating too hard on the ball forgetting about everything else. The color of curtains changes from red to golden in the background soon after the appearance of Gorilla on the scene. Meanwhile, the black players leave the screen that is also hard to detect. Overall, this game tests your observation skills by letting you getting involved on one aspect of the game. Your mind should be quick enough to respond to the changes happening in the scene.

It is estimated that half of the people miss the appearance of Gorilla. The people who capture the Gorilla scene, most of them don’t observe the changing colors of Curtains. And even if some people are successful in observing the curtains as well as Gorilla, they don’t seem to detect the disappearance of black team from the scene [Chr13] [The10]. My experience about the video was that I was able to count the number of passes accurately as well as the appearance of Gorilla. However, I couldn’t detect the curtains changing color or black team disappearing from the game.
