Develop an Abbreviated “Quantitative” Research Plan Task: Develop an Abbreviated “Quantitative” Research Plan Introduction Bullying has been viewed as a cause of post traumatic stress disease to many individuals and should never be tolerated. This notion needs to be determined in terms of its effect and symptoms then devising ways of dealing with it, in every setting. This study is pivotal in ensuring that post traumatic stress disorder is controlled and detected in time and avoided, if possible. Other researchers have carried out their research on related topics and come up with suggestions on how to avoid stress due to bullying. Further research is needed in this topic owing to the fact that the effects of the disease may prove to be hazardous to those affected other than exhibiting reduced performance. Through this study, the consumers of the information will be able to learn how broad the effects of bullying may spread. This is in relation to how much time the effects are felt and the overall impact of post traumatic stress disorder to a community. From this research, perpetrators of bullying will have a vivid outlook of the effects of their actions hence stopping this barbaric act. The study was research was carried out to determine the effects of bullying as related to post traumatic disease. The other objective was to determine the common symptoms reflected by victims of post traumatic stress disease as a result of bullying. Looking into the possibilities of having a reduction on reported cases of the disease with given measures are put in place. Post traumatic stress disease is as a result of bullying in this case; therefore, it depends on whether bullying occurs or not. The questions that would act as a guideline in this research would include: i) Can bullying cause post traumatic stress disease? ii) What are the common symptoms associated with post traumatic stress disease due to bullying? iii) Are there chances for reducing post traumatic stress disease due to bullying? Research methods The study design in this research would be an intervention study geared towards reducing the prevalence or the disease. The study setting would be a school within the locality where cases of bullying had been reported, drawing attention of the media. The setting is composed of mixed races with students who are considered to be extremists. The population is made up of children between the age of eight to sixteen, both male and female within a typical school setup. Considering the targeted population in this research, it would be more relevant to carry out interviews by myself on a one on one basis with the perpetrators and the victims. Other students would be involved through filling inn questionnaires. The use of interviews will be to get sincere opinion through interaction which provides an environment for opening up. This method would be more valid than the questionnaire. However for general information from other students, questionnaires will do. I would involve myself in the data collection process with the help from the teachers in the school. General information will first be collected using the questionnaires. The second procedure is selecting out the victims and perpetrators of bullying who are then to be interviewed. The main purpose of interviewing the victims is to ascertain the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder while the perpetrators; will be interviewed to find out possibilities of ceasing the behavior in order to reduce levels of posttraumatic stress disease as a result of bullying. The management of the data collected will involve the use of computers with programs related to data analysis and presentation among other statistical techniques. The computers will help in the processing of the raw data to make the work easier and more efficient. This would assist in drawing relevant conclusion out of the findings. Since those who have felt the effects of bullying may be going through the psychological trauma, it will be appropriate to come up with a professional manner of approach in an attempt to find information. Those suffering from the disease will also require specific attention as an ethical consideration; so as to ensure that their situation does not worsen as a result of the data collection process. Pre test has to be carried out to ascertain the problems most likely to be encountered during the research process. This would also help in registering the approximate cost of the research other than the work plan budget. The pretest will involve carrying out sample collection on a small scale basis and applying the techniques for analysis; to realize their significance and make adjustments on the deficit before the actual research is done. Work plan and budget will also be drawn. The cost of travelling and personnel fee in data collection would cost the most in the research process. The approximate total cost would be 100$ for travel and data collection. Plans for implementation of results would include writing of as journal on the findings and a general report on the research. The fact finding mission as per my work would be encouraged from the information in this book.
