Advocacy in Healthcare In any organization, ethics is a crucial virtue that each individual must uphold. On the other hand, healthcare center is so dynamic and complex for the clients and employees to know all their rights. As a result, advocacy plays a great role in enlightening people on their rights. This also ensures that the indigenous people are consulted and involved in case any sample to be used for research is going to be retrieved from their bodies (Jansson, 2011).Advocacy helps in maintaining privacy of the participants involved in a medical research.

Previously information concerning the health status of the participants could leak to third parties could leak an aspect that could reduce the dignity of an individual. With the introduction of advocacy, individual’s information was secured (Barkway 105). Also, the advocate explains the terms and conditions of the contract that the client is signing. This also helps the patient to know when to withdraw in case his/her rights are violated. Advocacy plays a great role in bringing up positive change in healthcare centers.

This is through coming up with new and appropriate policies to improve healthcare delivery. In addition, advocacy is a major principle in ensuring that cases of negligence and abuse of human rights are minimized. Cases of negligence have been previously reported an aspect that necessitated the need for advocacy in order to protect both the clients and employees. Also advocacy ensures that harm is reduced to both the family and community in case any researches are being conducted and instead uphold justice to all (Barkway 120).
