Running Head: MEXICO Mexico Institute I. Mexico II. The wonderful Mexico came into being on 21st of September 1821, after it got independence from Spain. It was declared and established as an independent republic in 1824. It is officially known as the United Mexican States. Mexico went through a lot of trouble by invaders and other kinds of interruptions starting from the beginning and extending up to the twentieth century. But, now in the current era, it is one of the most popularly liked and successful nations of the world. Mexico is the fifth largest country of North America and the thirteenth largest of the whole world. The capital of Mexico is “Mexico City”. It has always been the centre of economic, political, social and cultural values even before Mexico was a part of Spain. But when Mexico became independent, ultimately, Mexico City was made the capital of the United Mexican States. The flag of Mexico is quite different from other flags of the world. It is not only unique, but also holds a very deep and interesting story as well as strong facts about the country Mexico. The flag consists of three colored bands placed in a vertical manner. Starting from the left, the first band is of green color, which represents a symbol of hope joy, love and prosperity. The second band is of white color which depicts peace and honesty in the country. The third band of red color symbolizes courage, strength and guts. In the centre of the white band, lies a picture of an eagle eating a snake on top of a cactus with water lying besides. It was an old belief of ancient Mexicans that when they reached such a place and met such a natural scenario, it meant that it was a signal from God to make their home over there. Therefore, they started settling in the area, which is now known as the “Mexico City”. The currency of Mexico is “Peso”. Though, American and Canadian dollars are accepted at some places where there are maximum visits of tourists, yet Peso is widely used in every area of Mexico. III. Mexico is widely famous around the world for innumerable features, including the astounding natural beauty as well as man-made amusements. It is a well-developed country and is popular in every corner of earth. These are some of the reasons that attract tourists towards Mexico. Tourists are usually found in almost every season of the year, especially during school and office vacations, there are a lot of tourists that enjoy living in the Mexican style for a few days. IV. Following are some of the discussions about language, art, marriage, family and religion of Mexico. V. Language is a group of words that form a sentence and eventually groups of sentences that form a complete conversation. Language is very important to make people understand what we wish to convince or inform. Back to the times when there was no language, it was extremely tough for people to convey their messages, their feeling or some urgent news to the other. At times, it might have been quite painful, but still, they would manage through sign language or body language. Therefore, language is means of communicating to one other. It may include body language and actions as well, that play an important role and can easily change the meaning of any sentence. Mexico is a thickly populated country with a population of approximately 112,468,855 people. (Info Please). As it is large according to the area, therefore, it consists of a lot of people populating it. Languages are spoken according to the areas and the cultures. A Mexico is thickly populated; therefore, there are lots of cultures in Mexico. Due to a lot of kinds of cultures, there are lots of languages as well that are spoken in Mexico. There are about sixty languages that are spoken frequently in different parts of Mexico. A common language of all Mexican cultures is Spanish. As Mexico was once a part of Spain, therefore, the official and most frequently spoken language in Mexico is Spanish. In fact, it is the most heavily populated Spanish-speaking nation of the world. Mexico is well-known for fluent Spanish and one can find Spanish being spoken in almost in every part of Mexico. In the present era, English is widely understood and spoken all over Mexico. As English is an international language, so it is usually used in official works and meetings, especially at high levels. Art can be defined as a beauty, expression of one’s feelings, freedom of thoughts that one can produce in any form, be it an abstract painting or a proper one. It is a skill to express an idea by producing it in an intricate and exotic manner in the form of paintings, architecture, sculptures or any kind of dance or singing. However, art also depends upon the culture, the place where an artist is living, the environment where he/she is brought up, the circumstances in which he/she is living, the traditions which he/she follows and the religion as well. As described above, mexico consists of lots of different kinds of cultures. Evntually, Mexico has a wide range of art works as well. From the wooden works to copper and wooden works, Mexico excels in almost each and every aspect of art and architecture. Some of the art works display the Mexican culture or the myths and beleifs, whereas the other represent spiritual belief, deeply connected with God and the religion. Christianity being a popular religion in mexico, hence, a lot of pieces of splendid art work depict Jesus Christ and his concepts. Apart from this, there is a wide range of art that displays a person’s sel-interest and passion. Wood masks, skeleton sculptures, pinapple ot work and copper are some of the popular arts in mexico. (The Art of Mexico) Marriage is a pure, pious and spiritual bond between a man and a woman who intend to live their lives together as a husband and life. Marriage is a common custom all over the world but, the ways and traditions of marriage differ in every place. In Mexico, the marriages occur in the catholic churches as far as Christians are concerned. The bride wears a long white gown and the groom has his own option. The music is Salsa, which is quite popular. (WeddingDetails.com) Family consists of parents, children, siblings and other relatives. Unlike other western families, Mexico has a different and a respectable family system. The live together and respect their family members. Religion can be defined as a set of beliefs that are followed by a group of people that believe that they have a super power controlling them and everything in their lives. The most common religion found in Mexico is Christianity. As Mexico is a part of North America where Christianity is immensely common, therefore, in Mexico as well, Christianity exists in almost every area. VI. Conclusion: After the above study, I conclude that indubitably, the country of Mexico is an ultimate attraction for everyone who has not visited it yet and those who have, wish to visit it again and again.
