The interview revealed underlying moral development as well as cognitive issues that this man was experiencing. He grew up in a very abusive family where the parents disregarded him so much, and they could even treat him badly in front of the other siblings despite being the firstborn. He, therefore, grew up with the mentality that he was worthless even after trying his best to prove wrong to his parents that he was a responsible person. His moral development eventually changed, he had a very negative perception of the world, and he felt worthless.

It is paramount to note that such treatment to a growing child is dangerous since he lost his self-esteem and after becoming an adult, his only escape was alcohol. He felt better after taking it (Hergenhahn, 2009). Morality mainly refers to a system or doctrine of principles, values, or beliefs, which govern human beings in two ways, mainly by prescribing behaviors, that are positive to benefit others and by proscribing negative actions, which harm others. Thus, when this man was growing up, he positively did what was required to benefit others so that his family could accept him although this was not the case.

He primarily used his emotions as the major basis of morality. He ensured that he tried his level best to please other people so that he could be loved back, and this is where disappointments set in since to everybody reciprocated. At this point, he was at the Pre – Conventional (Level 1) stage of the cognitive developmental stage of self-interest orientation (Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2005).

Currently, the man is in the Conventional (Level 2) stage of both the interpersonal formality and accord as well as the authority and social-order maintenance orientation stage. The man nowadays follows the social norms of being a good person and at the same time adhering to law and order. The man is currently at the reasoning level known as the conventional level since he reasons with the comprehension that conventions as well as norms,s are integral to, upholding the socieupholdingternet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2005).

He tends to be self-identified, mainly with the noble rules whereby he consistently upholds, view revealed that he views morality as doing actions according to what society delights. There are two theories can what man has expected in both his past and the present.
