? Global Climate in Relation to Psychology Global Climate in Relation to Psychology Introduction The psychological impacts of global climate changes includes the recognition of how complex the sense associated to climate change global taking into considerations the effects to technological, ecological’ and social changes. The impacts due to global climate are categorized into three classes that include direct, in direct, and psychological. The in-and a converted environment from the initial climatic conditions direct impacts are those that result from the acute effects of extreme weathers conditions and events , which change the climatic environment. The in-direct impacts involves the process in which there is a threats to the emotional well-being of an individual based on the observations of effects and the concerns about future risks bound to befall an environment. Psychological impacts include the effects of heat, social chronic effects, drought, displacements, and human migration, conflicts associated with climate, and the adjustment after a disaster occurs. Subsequently, this necessitates the study of the global climate changes and an effective communication, such as fox news CNN and MSNBXC, to inform the people on various conditions expected. Level of commitment and other operational factors are involved in enhancing the mitigation of the global change within the available institutions mandated to study on the global climate. Literature Review Global climate change is projected to have substantial negative impact on the mental health and general well-being of individuals in areas with already existing severe illness. The process through which of the psychological impacts are appreciated involves the understanding of various multiple meanings and the cultural associated stories related to the climate of an area. Global climate change involves an interrelated psychological process and relative factors. Various factors, including the “mediators and moderators affect the response at which the climate changes” (Doherty & Clayton, 2011, p. 255). Doherty and Clayton (2011, p. 267) imply that “Biophysical impacts such as extreme weather conditions interact with the related to social vulnerability factors that collectively influence the level of severity impacts of a disaster” (Doherty & Clayton, 2011, p. 255). The difficulty in determining the linkages different factors contributing to the climate change and the social events that affect human kind necessitates a precautionary stance on the great potential for negative impacts (Doherty & Clayton, 2011). According to Aizebeokhai (2009), there has been an increase in temperature on the earth’s surface and the global see levels, which has led to climate change necessitating an adequate research on the growing behavior of violence and conflicts among the society. Factors contributing towards the fluctuations include global warming, greenhouse gases and a rage of human activities such as deforestation, and fossil fuels burning. Human activities have increased the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere; hence, the human influence towards the global change of climate is an important aspect, although it has limitations because of the emergence of signals from the natural climate change (Aizebeokhai, 2009, p. 867; Doherty & Clayton, 2011, p. 265; Karl & Trenberth, 2003, p. ). Similarly, Doherty & Clayton, (2011) indicate that heat is mainly presented in the mind of general population as global warming with adverse health impacts and a likelihood of warmth that has direct impact to the behavior of the people. The increase violence in human ids predicted to be a result of the increased violent aggression cause by the increased heat in the United States (NWF staff, 2012). The long-term side effects caused by increased temperature results from the effect of heat on a child and fetal growth. The dependent variable measurement conducted to determine various effect of the global warming to beliefs and perceptions of climate change indicated the acceptance of the factors contributed by humans towards climate change (Dolsak, 2001). However, results obtained from the analysis of the global warming from three independent measurements, which included surface temperatures, temperatures summaries from the boreholes, and the sea level changes of heat indicated that the all showed that the earth’s temperature is on an increase due to the global warming (Aizebeokhai, 2009, p. 869). Aizebeokhai (2009) implies, “Satellite images reveals the effects of the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases on global warming and the climate system” The loss of property and the displacement of individuals because of disasters undermine the mental health of the community, whereby the relocation environment possess different climate that is anticipated by the victims. The act of being forced out of a conducive to a non-anticipated area with a different climate disrupts the social networks that always lead to grief. The loss of friends, farming land, and other personal leaves a strong depression to those with a strong identity place and a national identity (Doherty & Clayton, 2011). The high awareness of the nations that have contributed to help in the climate change crisis are likely to be perceived with tensions by other less-developed countries. The developed countries encroach to the developed countries with a disability to afford technological requirements to mitigate the change in climate (Parry, 2007, p. 8; Dolsak, 2001, p. 415). The disasters occurring within a country having minorities and the majorities calls for the wealthier side to offer help to the victims. Consequently, the disparity may increase intergroup related conflicts. The issue of justice arises in the case of a limited resource and the threats arising from an individual’s group identity. Loss of homeland and reduction of the environmental resources required for citizens survival; hence, disasters associate to global climate change tent to raise the level at which an out-group is derogated. Conclusion The building evidence of the extent and irreversibility of the climate changes and the psychological effects possess a direct imply vacation for psychologist’s’ intervention, research on global climate, and policies. The recognition of the fact that psychological effects of fluctuating climate relates directly to the individuals and the community well-being, whereby even the unaffected contributes to the mitigation and activities, although they have not been subjected to the psychological impacts. The process involved in addressing the direct and extreme psychological impacts of global warming and the vulnerability of disasters due to the changes in global climate involves the psychologists to apply intrusion from the psychology of disaster and resilient weather occasions leading to changing landscapes. This will upheld a long-term alteration that puts into consideration the technological disasters and the effect of chronic influences. The global climate changes are perceived as more psychological and social occurrence as the concerns of the matters relative to biodiversity and geophysics, which are a direct threat to psychological health and the well,-being of individuals in an organization on numerous continuously levels . Subsequently, the psychologists have an ethical crucial role to take instant steps and processes to help reduce the psychological harm related to the global climate change. Despite the reduction of climate stress caused by climate changes, psychologists have to reduce the disparities associated to the climate impacts on personnel in the organization. In addition, the improvement of the climate-related interventions falls under the psychologists’ hands through the coordination of research programs and a practice entailing the high diversity of the skills and training possessed by each psychologist. The approach of the indirect impacts of global climate changes can be done through the psychologist individuals and group intervention to enhance the emotional appearance and discourse, which creates self-effectiveness by nurturing effective mitigation and adaptation activities. The role of psychologist is to promote awareness and the appropriate response to the high psychological impacts from the regional climate deprivation, the scarcity of resources, raise in intergroup struggles, los of homes and property, and the threats poised on the culture and values. Recently, global climate changes are influencing the health, well-being, and inter-relationships of the susceptible individuals and communities. Consequently, the psychologists can discourse the aspects and factors, which contribute to the social and economic differences of global climate change impacts and focus on how to apparently research on the global manifestations of the local and distant impacts.
