At the beginning of this work the researcher presents herself. Her name is Brijal Patel and she was named after her father Brijal Jayesh Patel in accordance with the Indian culture. She is an 85 years old wife to her dear husband, mother to two girls and a grandmother to two boys and two girls. While she is with her family, though she is weak and weary, she feels rejuvenated to live even longer just to see them enjoy what life has in store for them. The researcher was born and raised in India before she came with her parents to the United States in search of a comfortable living.
Life has offered her various lessons. As the researcher remembers of the desperate situation they once lived in while in India and the great opportunities availed to them by the generosity of the American people, she is convinced that human beings are created good and not evil. Coming to America made the researcher learn the English language more proficiently than she would have while in India. The author of the paper had to use books and audio resources to help her with pronunciations and writing.
The idea that people in USA legally begin working at 15 years was intriguing. She calls it a culture shock since back in India, unemployment rates are so high that people are normally find jobs after reaching approximately 28 years of age. She is proud of several accomplishments in her life. The first one is giving back the care her parents gave her while she was young. When her parent could no longer take care of themselves due to old age, the researcher took them in to stay with her. . The world was certainly moving so fast that I could not notice our growing apart.
I feel that I had an opportunity to do things right but I did not. I however try to keep in touch with him though he decided to settle with his family in Africa where he met his wife. Being so far away from him makes me feel incomplete. I however console myself by the fact that I have achieved most of my aspirations. In my life, I feel I did right by marrying my husband. He has guided my in making important decision in life. These include decisions that have defined my personal values, parenthood techniques and career direction.
His wisdom has made me become the woman I am. He has made me fall in love with myself but not as much as I love him. I feel good that every day when I go to sleep, he is always right there besides me to kiss me goodnight. Establishing my career in respiratory therapy is my greatest contribution to the world. I have helped both the young and innocent and the old and tired live a happy and healthy life by ensuring there are able to breathe comfortably. In the 85 years I have been, I have had more fun than I can remember.
My youthful years when I went to amusement parks together with my husband who was my fiancee then were fool of fun. We used to go with other couples just to spice it all. We had no care in the world then. Good times dint come without challenges. The distractions of college life were one of the major challenges in my career path. We would go out partying the night before our semester exams. It was by the grace of God that I never failed any of my exams.
