Research and statistics are widely used in every field for proving the validation of theories. In psychology too there is a massive use of research and statistics to verify the accuracy of a hypothesis and declare it a theory. Research is an important tool that identifies a problem and helps in its removal which usually results in improving the standard of the society and makes the world a better place. Far too often do management scholars resort to crude and often inappropriate measures of fundamental constructs in their research; an approach which calls in question the interpretation and validity of their findings.

(Nielsen, 2013) There are many types of research based on the nature of the problem, but usually there are three main type of research in psychology i.e. descriptive research, correlation research and experimental research. Research in psychology may be based on studying the various aspects of human behavior, impact of environmental factors on the mentality of animals etc. Research Research is a systematic way of studying and examining a problem and depicting correct conclusions from it. Research is a step by step process, each step has its own importance.

These statistics or data collected from various sources help the researchers to come to a significant conclusion. A research should be planned. Before initiating a research one must review the literature regarding the topic, one is about to conduct research on. Scientific Method Scientific method is technique or a systematic way of carrying out a research.

It is a mean of collecting data on a new phenomenon or checking the soundness of the old one. Scientific method may be considered as a mean to uncover reality in a methodical way. The process starts with a reasoning question called the hypothesis and ends with proving it right or wrong. In a nut shell it helps one to test the authenticity of a particular phenomenon occurring in the world. It usually consists of 5 steps in which commonly a research is carried out. These are Defining the problem Building a hypothesis Testing the validity of a hypothesis Collecting observations and statistics Drawing conclusion from the observations.

Role Of Statistics In Research Statistics is all about gathering and analyzing data about a phenomenon from a group of people or individuals. It is an important branch of statistics but it holds an important place in various other field of studies. It is being used particularly in research for the analyzing and interpreting data. Various statistical methods are used for interpreting the research result (Ginsburg, 1994) Statistics is a tool used by the researchers to for the purpose of proving the practicality of their theory.

It is the basis of the data analysis in a research. A research is basically a systematic process. It observes the statistics collected by the researcher to interpret the result. It can be called the evidence collected to prove a hypothesis right or wrong. When one starts reading a research the first question that comes in our mind is that what is the mean by which the researcher has reached to the conclusion. It is the data that has been analyzed and interpreted by the researcher, that has helped him to prove the precision of his research.

There are various means of collecting data. It may be through distributing questionnaires, through
