? Is Oral Sex Real Sex? These days sex is very common in the society and we usually read about sex in different commercials, on billboards and on the streets. We can hear it on the radio and it seems to be a very popular television subject. The days of keeping sex in the cupboard are long gone; now, sex is just another usual activity. Not only is it no longer a secret, but now, it has become to a certain extent, a tool for publicity. Among the adolescents, it is usually the main topic of conversation; even popularity. In the times we live in, sex is now more of a necessity, whereas before, it was more of a desire to show one’s compassion and passion for the person they love. Due to the frequency and publicity of sex nowadays, many questions are being asked on the matter. One in particular is, Is Oral Sex Real Sex? According to Rhonda Chittenden perspective, yes, oral sex is real sex. In her article, Oral sex is Sex; she has brought up some main topics of discussion with teenagers about sex. Her ideas about oral sex are not one sided and she is not on a platform trying to persuade the younger generation that oral sex is not good. She conveys a message to young people that oral sex is real sex, but in a different form. Some people of the younger generation now tend to engage in oral sex, because they are under the perception that oral sex is not real sex, and that it is safe and there are in no way breaking any rules. To some people it can be considered just as ordinary as kissing. Some people who engage in this morphology of sex undermine the actual danger that they are putting themselves in. The general impression that since they are not going to get pregnant, there is no possible danger, is just a mere form of self deception. When putting all points and all aspects of the matter into consideration, oral sex is actually more dangerous than the tradition sex. In both cases the participants are exposed to numerous bacterial and viral infections, however, in the traditional way of intercourse, it is possible to wear some form of protection, like condoms for example, people engaging in sex wear these in fear of getting pregnant. However, during oral sex, this fear is eliminated, and this liberates individual to engage in the unprotected form of oral sex. Condoms are an essential tool for the act of oral sex, however the mindset that people have that it is not real sex tends to cloud their judgment and obscures its appropriate practice. If people were to engage in oral sex, in a protected manner, it would be safer as it does not involve the penis-vaginal intercourse and stops other events such as teenage pregnancies from happening. (Chittenden). Oral sex is the genital stimulation of an individual through the usage of another person’s mouth. The lips and tongue sense different feelings of the genitals, triggering different touch receptors, depending on the different postures of oral-genital contact, and different manuvoures of each individual. The close distance of the face of one partner’s genitals can easily arouse intimacy and gives a very seductive sight of the other partner’s body. Other senses such as hearing are also involved during oral sex and can increase level of arousal and sexual stimulation. It is quite an intense feeling when a person is experiencing oral sex and his mind is engaged with great pleasure (Doheny). Nora Gelprin the trainer of sexuality disagrees on the topic that oral sex is real sex. She argues that the meaning of sex should be clarified to the young people. Instead of imposing the adult explanations of intimate relationships to teenagers, they should recognize their own values. Some teenagers think that the experience of oral sex exposes the enduring difference of power prevailing in heterosexual relationships. Oral sex is a way to ease stress and anxiety, to get intimate with the partner and avoiding the risk of getting pregnant. Some people think that oral sex is a free of risk behavior all together that diminishes the danger of infections that are been transmitted sexually. In oral sex, it is still a mystery who receives more pleasure between males or females. Some of the young people believe that oral sex is not real sex and vaginal intercourse is the only form of real sex. In parties, teenagers are frequently having oral sex that is destroying their immature minds and this is the first step from which they can do many other activities that are not suitable for them (Gelperin). In oral sex, there is risk of sexually transmitting infections that can cause damage to the teenagers. The major disadvantage of oral sex is that if a person is suffering from the HPV and he performs oral sex, there is a big chance that he will suffer from throat cancer (MailOnline). As discussed earlier that sex is much common in our new millennia society especially among teenagers and this is one the deeds, which is frequently talked about. The sex talks are not restricted in the bedrooms now; it is a topic of interest and pleasure among the adolescents. It has become very common in our society because of the media that is encouraging and promoting it every day not only through televisions but also in radios. Different commercials and TV shows are appealing to youngsters on this matter. The question we are discussing here is about oral sex, whether it is real sex or not. In some context, we can say yes it is real sex and some people are in favor of doing oral sex rather than intercourse. Oral sex is actually real sex but in different morphology. It is safe and prevents one from being pregnant. It actually gives the pleasure for real sex and is not involved in pregnancy. All the sexual needs and pleasure can be recieved from the oral sex. Teenagers are advised to use condoms for oral sex. Condoms are also common these days due to their advertisements on TV commercials and radios. In some context, we can say no, that oral sex is not real sex because it does not involve the vaginal intercourse that is necessary for pregnancy. Some teenagers think that by oral sex only, boys receive most of the pleasure of sex while a girl just gives the pleasure.
