It is also about expanding the range of power by entering into the foreign nations. Imperial power either states a nation as the most powerful one or the hated one[Ign03]. Imperialism is the concept or a policy to increase the influence and the power of a country by using a military force, colonization or other means. It is the acquisition of the cultural and economic power often done by force[Ram14]. There are two types of imperialism, one is formal imperialism and the other is informal imperialism. In the formal imperialism, there is enforcement of political control of one country on the other directly. The examples of formal imperialism are the British rule in the India, Kenya and Hong Kong. Informal imperialism is an indirect way to control a nation with the help of economic and indulgence of military force threat means. The formal way is the expensive way to control the other countries, as compared to the informal imperialism. The least expensive type of imperialism can be achieved with the aid of technological superiority, ownership of industry, ownership of land, large amount of unpaid loans or imposing agreements to the countries to agree with. For example, the Chinese military was defeated by the British Empire in the year 1842 and then British forced the government of China to sign a trade agreement, which was in favor of trading goods between the two markets. The aim of the Security Council is to enforce the UN Charter. The UN Charter is a set of regulations that are built on the organization of the UN. Another aim of the Security Council is to look at the peacekeeping operations. The Security Council plays a very significant role in the time of taking action on an issue. If it does not consider it, the issue expires immediately. The General Assembly is a forum for its members to debate on the issues. This Assembly can only recommend the things to follow to the countries and it cannot force the countries to implement on its given recommendations. The operating bodies under the United Nations do not have the right to pass or accept the resolution without the mandate of the Security Council[Gra14]. From the beginning, the United Nations have performed the bidding of being imperialist. After the two years of its establishment, it mandated to divide the Palestine in order to create a new state called as Israel. In this course of action, more than eight lakh people were forced to leave and evacuate and there were thousands of Palestinians who were killed during this time period. Now, it has been figured that the Palestinian refugee have moved to several States of the world and the number of refugees are more than six million. The General Assembly made a resolution to give the rights to the Palestinian and let them return to their land. Since General Assembly can only issue a mandate and recommend it to the countries, this resolution was never acted upon and it was expired in the Security Council[Ste12]. United Nations is also failed to take action against the imperialist of myriad. The sufferers of this failure are the people and countries, who are oppressed and suppressed. The perfect example of the failure of the United Nations is the Africa. In the year 1960, the imperialists used the United Nations as the protective wing that can crush the movements of the national liberation. The United Nations have been using the strategy of peacekeeping and has intervened in a number of countries for the purpose of its imperialism. It is a trademark of the organization and for more than sixty times, the organization has intervened from the day of its inception. In the late 1980s, mass killings were the outcome of the UN forces that disarmed the fighters of the Namibian liberation and the bitter part was to allow the South African forces to ramble the way they want to. And at the time of the independence elections, South African forces and the UN forces jointly terrorized the people. The same is happening in Haiti, where the UN and U.S are working together to terrorize the people[Fel12]. It is a colony of French, just like Chad, but it has a small population as compared to its area. The United Nations is having an imperial role in this current situation by offering more troops to France to handle the condition of the CAR. These circumstances also indicate that the United Nations have been just an imperial power that can bring troops to operate, but it cannot bring stability and peace in the boundaries of Africa. Although, the United Nations has provided a billion of dollars for the sake of peace-making in the region of Africa, but still the violence is not prevented. One of the reason of this failure is the lack of manpower and equipment and the weak mandates as well. Moreover, it has been seen that the crisis are not prevented by the United Nations via its enough political pressure[Aba14]. This report is written by relating the imperialism of the United Nations through its members, especially the five veto powers, i.e. Great Britain, Russia, United States, China and France. In the year 1999, the superpower of the United States used the NATO to incur bombing in Serbia. Moreover, U.S did not agree with the other nations and affirmed to be against the country of Iraq. It has been also uncovered that the policy of weapon inspection is just to drag the war in Iraq and hence the UN inspections are not peaceful and real [Jul13]. It was observed that the United Nations is established to end the anti-imperialist movements and help the suppressed nations to stand again and to survive.
