Political Science I have been a big fan of politics since I believe that it affects my life directly. Ever since I was a child, I developed keen interest in world politics and local politics as well following various regimes as they came and went. Currently, I am affiliated with a political party which I dearly support. My decision to support the given political party is based on the ideologies which they have. I belong to the Democratic Party and my family has been supporters of the same ever since the days of grand-father. Our main reason to support Democratic party in the current years was based on having a tough political spokesman, President Barrack Obama. Based on the where the party found the country some years back, I have come to have great confidence in the work that they do and future plans for the county. Through the past 7 years, I have managed to convince 6 of my friends to vote for the party. In addition, some people always wonder why we tend to support Democratic Party pointing some religious issues associated with them, for instance, supporting gay marriage, from our family’s perspective, though religious, we believe that God created everyone on this earth as equal and no one should be badly. Every human being has a right to freedom, the very basis from which America was built from by our founding fathers. Through time, my political perspectives have changed and I have transformed to become a person who totally understands the value of politics in my life. While growing up, I used to encounter politics in my history classes and found it fascinating as they played a key role in some of the major events that happened in the world. Politics play a key role in ensuring that USA citizens are catered for. Personally, in seeing various regimes come and go, I have been inclined to like some ideologies of some parties and despise others. For example, take for instance a party that tries to block the health care bill proposed by the Democratic Party for the general wellbeing of the USA citizens. Surely, it is through some actions taken by these parties that have made them unpopular to some people. We have always stood by the Democratic Party since they have always set the needs of the USA citizens before their own. In 2008, after the global recession hit the US economy, a lot of my relatives and family members lost their jobs. It was a hard time for my father to feed us as things were very expensive, but as President Obama stepped into power through the Democratic Party ticket, a lot of changes occurred through the same year. Within 2 years of power, he had managed to solve the economic crisis in American and placed measures to curb. In addition, the government managed to create employment opportunities, a place where some family members got new jobs. I do agree that a political party can affect one’s life directly. I remember in 2009, I a close relative who had been denied medical services for being poor, but with great ideas like the health care bill, who can resist such offers which touch our lives. My Views I do not agree with the idea of the National defense and National Security, being influence by more than I unit. I strong agree that national security is a sensitive matter and one that should be left entirely in the hands of the ruling government. Education in USA has a capability of undergoing amendments to make it better. In the past few years, we have had issues with a number of institutions which are producing sub-standard students to the world. Education system is supposed to be reviewed so that it become cheap and available to everybody, infact, it should be made free for all since it is the government that will benefit directly from the labour produced by them. In addition, higher learning students should be provided increased loans at a reduced interest rates to motivate them to work hard. I strongly support the social programs in place in the country since they have proved beneficial to everyone. I would like to benefit from Medicaid and Medicare services since they take care of the low income earners in the society. In addition, unemployment insurance provides those jobless with an opportunity to benefit when they are out of jobs. Throughout years, social security has always been under controversy when parties have a say on them. From my opinion, If one independent organization can be set to run it independent of the parties, then such controversies can be forgotten. Laws governing immigration always has to under check to safeguard the USA citizens. It is due to poor immigration laws that terrorists and illegal groups can enter US soil and cause havoc. Hence constant reforms from parties are needed to ensure immigration is controlled. In regard to the economy, I think it needs an improvement. 8 years ago, the price of gas used to be cheap, but currently it is a bit higher making factors of production also higher. Quite a number of people lost their jobs after the global economic crisis, after which recovery has been slow. Taxes in USA are too much. I personally do not agree with the great amount of taxes levied on a person’s salary after working that hard for a month. I believe the government should come up with a way to tax fairly every citizen. In relation to marriage, I believe it is an agreement between two people, irrespective of the sex. Moreover, though divorce goes against my religious beliefs, but I believe in some situations like cheating, it can be allowed. My view on abortion is that it should be made legal so as to avoid the number of deaths caused by illegal abortion procedures. Affordable healthcare Act should be supported since it guarantees health for every USA citizen. Platform analysis It is evident that there is no perfect party based on their reform agendas. Every party has an advantage and a disadvantage of choosing them, but based on the above analysis of the major parties based on the issues discussed above, one can realize that some parties are better than the others on certain issues (Bardes 25). Take for instance the issue of health care reform, I tend to agree with the Democratic Party since it is a great idea, but when it comes to economy and tax issues, I concurred with the reforms made by the Republican Party since it appeared to be solid in nature based on their years in power faced by economic situations. American citizens have the will power to choose which party to follow or vote for based on their political party platforms. Platforms are based on what the political party stands for. In a country full of diversity, landing on a political party that represents your need is not hard. I have always been in the Democratic Party since I it has a better reform agendas when compared to other parties. In the current world, the party has managed to come up with real life reforms that have helped people to grow (Bardes 23). Take for instance, the reforms in the healthcare sector and social policies. Based on the past governments in power, a lot of effort has been made by the political party to ensure that the given citizens benefit from the program. In conclusion, it is wise to know which political party to be affiliated with based on your own choose after looking at what it stands for. Works Cited Bardes, Barbara.
